Finally get to hear the recorded version of 666 - which was one of the new songs he premiered last summer - so great

 

I've been on the fence about this band and Justin Vernon throughout every release of theirs dating back to For Emma. I'm interested to hear this record (listening now) but keeping my expectations low.

yeah i mean he's always had some nonsense lyrics, not sure what you were expecting!

I don't like the idea of nonsense lyrics, though. But I don't like Naked Lunch either, so it's on me. For whatever reason, the nonsense lyrics didn't bother me on For Emma, they just started getting to me on the last record and now this one.

 

And like...that line makes perfect sense.

 

haha yeah it's all good man. i can't defend all his lyrics that's for sure, but he always has some gems throughout his records as well.
