I just listened to "Deathbreast" for the first time and I don't know how I feel. I know I like it but I can't place a finger on why this song pleases me.

It's been in my head since it released. I love it. It's so angry for a Bon Iver song

I hear such a BI,BI sound in both of these tracks, but with such organic additions to them. I totally see how he ended up here yet i still fucking love how he did.

Is there any connection between 10Deathbreast and the fact that track 10 on the last album was Beth/Rest?

    what a waste of wood

Hey dude you got your wish to hear Beth/Rest!! And with Bruce on keys, nonetheless.

I can't put into words what I experienced Friday night. Sat down about 5 or 6 rows back 2 and a half hours before he started playing. Deathbreast drum beat is fucking infectious. It pounded live and I can't get it out of my head.

The closing track is one of the most beautiful things I've ever heard. The lyrics were printed at the back of Eaux Claires "hymnal" but I couldn't have guessed it was going to be that good.

Hell yeah! So glad I got to hear that track.

I really appreciate the reworked versions of the old tracks he played (especially Minnesota, WI and Beth/Rest). He had enough on his plate getting ready to preform the whole new album, it would have been perfectly acceptable for him to just play those songs as is. Just damn.

We were front row for Vince Staples and James Blake, so we were a little ways back for BI, but it was still incredible.

After having the live performance on repeat, I think you guys have experienced one of the most visceral experiences music was able to provide this year. A small town guy, from Wisconsin, debuting his new album in his hometown in front of probably a decent amount of his family and friends, at a festival that was only made possible by the enormous success he had over the years. God I'm jealous.

It really was, man. It was raining for about 3-4 hours and just as Justin was about to start playing the rain subsided.

At this point I don't foresee a year in which I will not be attending Eaux Claires.

Yeah I'm considering going next year too. I read the audio quality at the fest was debatably the best at any festival many people went too, and they're going to keep going every year.

I've been two both years and I can vouch for this claim. Not only the best sound of any festival I've been to, but up there with any indoor venue I've been to as well. I think part of this is the equipment and sound people at the board, but another part is that everyone that plays at this festival are incredible musicians.

    That was awesome.

I've gotta say though, the rain made James Blake's set super dope.

I can't remember where I read this, but I think I read once that they give every artist their own sound engineer.

I was a little late to day 2 (was swimming in the Chippewa). As soon as we stepped off the bus I was amazed at how PERFECT you could hear Jenny Lewis from so far away. Every detail.

Over Soon is beautiful, second one felt gimmicky and kind of nothing under it

waiting to hear how it works within the album's context

My only (small) complaint with Over Soon is that when I'm listening on headphones, the (intentional) clipping sorta hurts my ears a bit at times. Other than that it's perfect.

Getting a real Peter Gabriel out there feel from this album.

Also, I think the album version is going to be either much more intricate than the live version (in terms of production), or that the 2 tracks that were released are going to be different on the studio album. Still interested to see how different it ends up being.
