I still don't get why y'all love Pin The Grenade so much, though

"Misery", "Parking Lot" and "Wildfire" were newly written after California. I believe that "Bottom of the Ocean" was as well (they mentioned doing "electronic experimentation"). I got that info from this article. https://www.billboard.com/music/roc...rammy-2017-travis-barker-mark-hoppus-7632325/

As @TheJMan said above, 6/8 and Hey I'm Sorry were definitely from the original sessions. In that article, they mentioned there being "like 4" old songs, but they also said the deluxe had 14 new songs and we only got 11 so....it's all a guess.

The First Time reminds me of something that would be on Yellowcard's Paper Walls. Not sure if I'm crazy with that take

  6. hot take?

"the first time" is easily blink's worst album opener

Happy Days might be their worst song they've ever written. So campy.

I'd agree with that and I even like that song quite a bit. Every other opener is a classic.

I'd give that to "Ghost on the Dancefloor" imo. But I get it, "The First Time" does in some ways seem like a "Feeling This" re-tread. But I love it though.

  10. my least favorite on Nine, hands down. that song sounds like a California b-side.

  11. watching the livestreams of this current tour, i have a whole new appreciation for "ghost on the dancefloor." might be one of their best live songs now? crazy to think.

Wow. Says a lot about how I feel about Neighborhoods when I completely forgot about GOTD when I thought about all of their album openers. I even thought about both versions of "Carousel" before considering GOTD.

Not sure if I change my opinion, but still.

GOTD is great, it just sounds like There Is by BCR which feels lazy

Yeah I like it more now after seeing it live again last week. I saw them play it live in 2011 but that was before the song was actually out and released. It was a barn burner in St. Paul.

I actually really like it, despite the repetition of the chorus. It's about Mark's depression and I struggle with it and I've found it to be a song of comfort.

I’m a big nine defender and honestly think pin the grade is just okay. Fun song, but there’s way better on the record

I don't care what anyone says, Neighborhoods is still better than California and Nine on my listening so far

Its production hurts it a bit, though
