I know this isn't popular, but I'm a Tom purist when it comes to blink.
I listened to California, because I was desperate for new blink-182, but
it just wasn't the same for me, and I never listened to or had any desire
to listen to Nine. Please don't hate me.

I think I could have gotten into it a lot more had it not been labeled blink-182.
If they had a different band name for the group, it woulda hit different for me,
but it also wouldn't have done as well, so I get it...

 

Alright, it's happening!

 

California is pretty good.
Nine is their worst, most generic sounding album to date with no interesting guitar riffs.
Neighborhoods is better than both.

 

If anything, this applies more to California. They reuse the Adam's Song riff on like 6 songs.

Yeah but it has California, Los Angeles, and Home Is Such A Lonely Place. All are better than every song on Nine

 

Nine just sounds like every other modern pop punk band that *try* to capture the old sound of the 90s/early 2000s but still misses the mark

Because nine does not sound like what you’re describing here at all. You could make this argument for California but Nine? Lol

 

Tom’s back, Skiba is gone. Just do yourself a favor and listen to them as bodies of music, not blink records. It doesn’t have to be so deep

 

As glad as I am that Tom genuinely seems into it this time, he has some work to do to beat Nine for me. I'll give him a chance, but it's not like Tom doesn't reuse his own stuff as much as anybody around lol
