tom can sing when he doesn't try so hard. the beginning of reckless abandon was beautiful. also, he's much better harmonizing with mark than on his own.

The First Date thing seemed like an intentional effect to me, not just autotune, but Tom wanting to play around to make it interesting to him.

Don’t know what to say except I’m very happy my favorite band put on their best concert since 2004. All 3 were at the top of their game and seemed like they were having fun and it showed in the performance. Also didn’t think we would ever get stage banter from them again.

 

I want an audio rip of them pre-stage. Will never get, but would be so good.

 

They still played, what, an 18-song set? My guess is the headlining tour is 22-24 songs. Add in a drum solo, a 5-min encore break, a ton of banter between songs (which was clearly rushed in this set) and I really only foresee them adding 5-6 songs to what we saw tonight.

This is the first year since 2010 I haven't gone to Coachella, because I have a lovely little kiddo I have to be home with, but I threw on the blink stream for about 10 minutes on my cell phone with him in my arms and we rocked out together. He laughed at a dumb Mark joke, obviously had no idea what was going on, and made my night.
