Makes sense that the 2004 doc was a rough cut, it didn’t seem like it was a finished version.

 

You know, I always felt this way while watching the Cheetah videos for Untitled even before they broke up (so not just looking at it in hindsight). There's something weird about it once they get the album turned in and they are touring and doing promotion. For some reason, there's a melancholy vibe to it.

Maybe it's just the way it's edited, but there's this feeling I just can't quite put my finger on... The three of them just feel lonely and isolated or something. I feel like maybe they just couldn't hide their feelings of being burned out and frustrated.

 

Well, I mean if you believe what’s kinda been said or alluded to in the years since, Mark was still pretty upset (or at least very bothered) by the BCR situation that happened the year prior.

Well I understand that, but I mean that when they are working on the Untitled record, it seems like they are still having fun and getting along. But once it moves beyond that and they start touring, the tone changes quite a bit. The bitter feelings may have started well before that, but it seems like their burn out and tension really started affecting them during the time period that this doc covers.

 

This was 100% my thoughts as well.

If this was an album leak, paid live stream, or doc that was only accessible via purchase of vinyl it something it would make sense to be up in arms about it, but it's not even being flagged on youtube. The director commented on it, why wouldn't mark or any other bandmates?

 

People are weird in there. I get being respectful to Mark and all on off topic/personal stuff… but the dude (and others) just legitimately want to know his thoughts on a blink relic that was just unearthed and was cool as hell to watch. I’m going to start mimicking that tattle tale behavior any time a demo/unreleased song/etc is brought up in that channel.

Mark watching the old MTV episode of the Untitled launch was a lot of fun. Wild how much money went into that album.
