I think this song is fine. It isn't really sonically what I think of when it comes to Blink but that's okay. It's just one song, and most bands don't 100% nail their new music straight out the gate on a reunion.

 

Sounds like absolute torture.

All we heard for weeks after BIOMY was “where’s the guitars!?!”

 

And not a single “She said” from Mark. Like were they even trying?

 

Yeah. “Darkside” or “I Really Wish I Hated You” would have been much better choices for lead single imo

 

The only blink-182 albums I’ve listened to start-to-finish are untitled and Neighborhoods, unless you count Greatest Hits.

Curious how this new one turns out.

The drums are def basic for Travis. I'm just stoked that Tom isn't doing any AVA affected stuff with his voice, which he def did on Up All Night and most of his blink stuff that time around. There's clearly a better vibe with this. I think Up All Night is the only weaker single of theirs period, but this is ridiculously catchy.

As far as those TWIABP criticisms, idk what about this song is out of line with any other blink besides the drums. Like, we know they aren't Thrice or anything. Common knowledge lol

I think Up All Night is a much stronger single than this, but to each their own!

 

Nah no one’s allowed to critique this band unless they also tour stadiums

 

Just realized it’s stylized as “EDGING” on streaming..are they pulling a Tyler, the Creator and every song title is going to be all caps?

 

It’s close. I’d put BTD first, then either this or UAN undecided on that, and BIOMY last(but still a good song)

 

Up All Night is a fine song, but not a good single.

Not like that album had many better choices lol
