Could you imagine going back in time to tell the kids from F.o.N. that one would be in a band with Tom and the other would be producing one of blink’s most anticipated albums ever?

They better announce a CT date quick. I’m trying to get peer pressured into going to Brooklyn.

I was 12 when the blink documentary was turned off and taken away because of boobs in the audience

Man, I'm glad my mom never gave a shit about the music I listened to.

I remember I played "Last Resort" for her and asked what she thought and she deadpanned "I think he's singing about killing himself."

Of course, on another occasion I played the entire Hybrid Theory album in the car and she politely asked me not to do it again.

    Good times.

The last half of Please Take Me Home is one of the best moments in the band’s discography

Same boat. If they're over 200-250 for pit I'm gonna wait it out and save to be able to pay out the ass last min if need be. Lol

This is insane, especially considering Dua really blew up over the pandemic so demand was high for her tour and Billie is well, Billie. Like, get that money I gusss, but when two of the biggest pop stars on the planet aren’t even selling tickets for as high as (some of) the Blink tickets are going for, I dunno, it just feels so strange.

I was smart enough to watch Urethra Chronicles upstairs on my brothers little VHS combo TV so my parents wouldn’t hear.

My dad conveniently walked in right when Mark says “it’s Travis’ sweat because we fucked in the butt.” That was awkward haha

I was baffled when my mom took one look at Enema of the State and refused to buy it for 9-year-old me.

Their fan bases aren’t loaded with their own disposable income like legacy pop-punk acts are. Same reason why we’ll see these same acts take up residencies in Vegas in 5-10 years like other acts.

I increasingly have zero interest in any of these expensive reunion tours because they are a pure money grab, largely for Ticketmaster, and my nostalgia isn’t worth $600.

My mom read Slipknots Iowa when I borrowed it from a buddy... didn't go well... at all. Haha.

Seen blink 4 times - twice with Tom, twice with Matt.

    2009 Reunion: $60 for 2nd tier amphitheater
2011 Honda Civic: $100 for pit
2016 California Summer Tour: $100 for pit
2019 Enema Anniversary: $100 for pit

So yeah, prices this time around are insanity.

All of those were in 15-20k amphitheaters. Pro hockey/basketball arenas are definitely contributing to the pricing here, too.

Yeah but they have parents who will spend hundreds of dollars to take their kids + friends or kids + siblings to the shows. Like, I don't think the demographic should determine the price of a ticket to a show. Assumptions that Blink fans have more money and can splurge on higher priced tickets are stupid IMHO because people are struggling regardless of age, especially in today's economy. You can price your tickets mildly expensive and still sell out all the shows and have a high grossing tour. Billie and Dua are examples of this, and probably Harry too but I don't know how pricey his tour was for face value tickets.

The price of WWWY fest nearly doubling before the first iteration even happens says that yes, people are willing to spend stupid amounts of money on these events. People are bad with money.

I think pricing strategy is fascinating and I know there is a ton of blame to go around, and I frequently hear inflation/pandemic make up cited as reasons, but it certainly doesn’t seem to be impacting major artists equally.

the aforementioned Billie tour is a good example. I’d also throw Halsey and Foo Fighters in there. Granted, the latter tour didn’t happen for obvious reasons. But, I paid $120 with fees for a premium Halsey seat this summer, and $120 for Foos pit.

  20. Heard from multiple people that this sold even better than expected for the first day in almost all the markets.

I know some of the increase is because of inflation and making up for a year of no shows but some acts are definitely more cognizant of the backlash factor. That’s why Springsteen not being that aware was such a shock.
