I will die on my Jerry Finn (and Mark Trombino) should have (and would have if it was 2022) received songwriting credit on those albums hill.

DED was a little better about this, but I think that's what puts me off of Neighborhoods more than anything. There was no element of fun to the tone of that record. They don't have to go over-the-top with the joke songs and immature humor, but hearing them be energetic and upbeat again is great.
