Personally I never thought I could be this hyped about the band again but here we are.

It's been a much needed distraction from everything just to have been following this like an insane person this week.

Side note, Charlie Puth’s new song A First Time For Everything sounds like it’s a Blink-182 cover.

 

I can exclusively confirm that Blink-182 has signed to drive thru records.

Everybody knows S.A.W.'s are the new U.A.P's. I didn't know you were a high-level consultant at To The Stars. Blink 182 times if this information is true. Now we know how you became aware of Tom's backstage chatter about Turnstile.

What I actually imagine happened is they made a new album with Matt and played it for Tom since their friends now and Tom said "hey I like this a lot, I'm coming back but I want to sing these songs and take all the credit and if you say no I'll sue" lol

 

I basically came into the thread to check on this. Do we know what Skiba's status is at all?

Loved the sound they had going on Nine and would be really interested to see the next step with Tom also involved.

 

No news on Matt’s involvement yet

 

With all the “Tom is back” hype they’re gonna release a single and it’ll be an all Mark track lol

 

I am starting to think they all got together when they found out Mark was sick, and songwriting naturally came together as he was getting better. I will be really happy if there is completed music at the start of this announcement. I am excited about the extensive press and interviews filling in the background of the last year or so of Blink. WIld to think about, probably two weeks ago I would have said 30% possibility music is made and ready for release. A strong single would be amazing, if they announce anything more I'll lose it.

I understand the Skiba hope, but it just doesn't seem realistic. He wouldn't be able to play any of the leads and it is unlikely they would do more than one or two songs from the last two albums live. He is a frontman of a very successful band and his role would be relegated to essentially a touring rhythm guitarist. I am cool if Matt and Tom periodically swap in and out and release music when they are an active member. Hopefully, he makes a guest appearance on a live date this year. Better yet, let AK3 be an opener and have him come out for 1-3 songs a night.

 

My gut is telling me he’s out and it’s Tom coming back

 

I would be floored if a Tom track in 2022 is better than anything on Nine

 

I keep trying to tell myself to not make that comparison because they’re going to be completely different.

Like comparing Neighborhoods/DED to NINE…it just doesn’t make sense to compare even if it is under the same brand name.

 

Unless it’s produced by Feldmann…

 

In that case, prepare yourself for some flat sounding guitar tones lol.
