Im going to see Coheed, Trio and Mothica on Tuesday... So if Tom rejoins tomorrow and I get to see Matt with Trio the following day... it's gonna feel like a hug to my younger self this week.

 

Idk an album that sounds like NINE mixed with Lifeforms sounds pretty rad to me

 

I absolutely love NINE and was happy with the direction they seemed to be headed in, but I can't lie and say that I wouldn't be excited to see Mark, Tom, and Travis back together. That being said, I know exactly how disappointed I'll be with the output with Tom in the band again.

 

I've been a massive fan since 1999, and I prefer the older "classic" albums to the new ones, buuuuut Tom's done this with Blink at least 2 other times already... So if he is back again, the odds are: he is not going to stay for long. I think if anything, the people being negative about it are actually just being rational. This is like when your buddy breaks up with a toxic girlfriend, but gets back together, breaks up again, gets back together, and you're just sitting there like "Oh wow, cool. She's back AGAIN and you guys are super duper in love now? Cooooool mannnn...."

But honestly, I've said it before recently, but I think Blink mayyyyy be in the final stretch of their time as a band. Bringing Tom back for a final album/tour would make complete sense, and I'd welcome it. Plus that would mean that Tom wouldn't have to leave the band prematurely again. They could just go out on a high note and do different things.

 

I tell myself also... Since Neighborhoods... Tom got to do his UFO project... and as far as anyone would have thought.. he's had more success with it than anyone thought he would.. The amount of people that know about the Tic Tac video is pretty impressive.... Toms been through a divorce and is now remarried, he got to do another AvA album/tour which was pretty well received for all counts... Mark beat cancer... Travis is a Kardashian now...Idk guys.. Im ready for whatever they wanna try.

Money probably played a big role in him coming in.

All things considered, I'm very excited to see the meltdown on Reddit tomorrow and the posts that are like "There's still 2 hours left on the west coast, so there's still time for the announcement."

 

I remember Matt was on a podcast a few years ago and he was basically saying that he understood that the Blink situation could end at any time, so he's just grateful and enjoying the moment. Then made a mention that the California era brought him more money than he's ever seen.
I wish I could remember the podcast. I feel like there was a gimmick like they were in a swear lodge or something during the interview.

This post just reminds me of a decade ago when some shitty fan site called “Tom’s Angels” somehow convinced a shit ton of us they were gonna release a leak of Up All Night but … you had to wait “up all night” to hear it and they wouldn’t say what time zone lol (and clearly didn’t actually have a leak)

 

If nothing at all happens tomorrow, people (especially Reddit) aren’t just going to be disappointed, but they’re gonna be mad at the band for getting their hopes up. Can’t wait to see how many “I’m done with this band” posts we see if nothing happens.

I’m cautiously excited. I think an album along the lines of the last two with Tom could be pretty great or at the very least a lot of fun. I’m glad they continued on with Matt and really dug both albums, but they definitely lost some momentum with the poor rollout for Nine and the decision to tour with Wayne didn’t go over super well. I’m also happy that Matt can hopefully do more Trio stuff. Very excited to see them in weeks with Coheed.
