I've only recently started loving Online Songs, would love to see it added to their live setlist.
    TOYPAJ is epic!

i'm both glad we get to hear these leaked demoes, but also glad this wasn't the next proper blink release. presumably all this stuff was meant for the collabs EP. this one sounds pretty decent though, wonder why only 17 seconds of it is out there and not the full thing

    This !

Online Songs and Shut Up are now in my top 15 fav blink songs.

I always skip First Date now though. So repetitive.

Half the words of Shut Up is just various forms of “fuck.” Talk about repetitive.

And yet that’s the only one that stands out as relying on swearing vs using it to emphasize something. Obviously not counting joke songs.

Might be because a lot of the lyrics are Mark quoting someone who is really sick of him. He usually doesn't swear that much.

Shut Up is good, especially when I first heard it as a teenager. Solid choice to make it the penultimate track on TOYPAJ too.

    House of Protect Ron.

in my discography play through i noticed Mark has these distinct eras.

    early blink - skate punk

Enema / toypaj - polished pop punk perfection

Untitled / +44 / neighborhoods / DED - dark and brooding, but still very catchy.

California / SC / NINE - classic mark lines and lyrics but with an intentional push toward modern pop melodie’s and sounds.

I prefer more eras than others, but he has never stopped progressing and pushing forward. Excited to see where we land on this record.

  23. Isn't there a screamo band named pg. 13 too?

My point is, I find it odd to diss First Date as repetitive when it’s structured the same way as all the other songs, and all are repetitive. Shut Up is easily the most repetitive song lyrically on the album. I like Shut Up, but it’s one of Mark’s weakest and the plethora of fucks gets old when you’re not 15 anymore.

Not to say this means you should change your opinion on any songs. I am not trying to. I just don’t think your reason makes sense in the context of praising those songs, Shut Up in particular. All their material is repetitive, like, it’s pop music. It’s kind of ingrained in it. I just found it a weird complaint in that context.
