Impulse bought a ticket to the Fenway show last week. TBD if I end up going- I hate going to big shows like this solo.

After going to Paramore, blink, and FOB solo last year, I like the bigger shows better when I have a seat. Being able to just chill during opening bands and dick around on my phone was a nice change of pace to start don’t for a few hours on concrete.

we got a killer GD album out of i at least. I'd take that over anything else.

Yikes I just looked at GD's projected numbers. Seems pretty low for a legacy band that's about to do stadiums this summer.

Green Day is not a band who needs any sales numbers, they could have sold 3 copies and their tour would still be a success. Most people going to a Green Day show in 2024 won't even listen to this album, many won't know it exists

They need a better tour opener than cause these dates aren’t selling so hot currently. Too expensive, a bad (IMO) bill, and only 50k debut can’t be what they’re wanting leading into baseball stadium shows.

the dookie/ai move makes a lot of sense now

  9. Yeah ngl I had 0 interest in the Green Day tour until they announced the full album plays. The supports are cool if that's your thing but it would have been way smarter to get a younger band as support

I like Green Day more but Blink feel infinitely more current than GD and like their brand of immaturity resonates higher on both the nostalgia and current youth vibes scale.

  12. It's weird because Billie Joe's whole vibe on social media comes off as a much older person but him and Mark Hoppus are like the same age

Perhaps SoCal is the fountain of youth and Northern California ages you proportionally and accurately.

The only reason my interest is piqued in the Green Day tour are the full album plays, and that's cause I wasn't allowed to go to concerts when they were touring American Idiot. That's getting me closer to purchasing a ticket, but i'm waiting for prices to drop before doing so. It won't be a good look if one of the first shows at our renovated stadium is half-empty. Interested in Rancid opening, but not SP...

    Are You Watching Closely?

DO IT!!! I went to the Blink show last minute on a day of release pit seat from ticketmaster and couldn't afford to bring me AND my wife and find a babysitter all day of.... I NEVER do anything alone (I'd rather stay home haha) and I had a BLAST. I'd seen Blink half a dozen times before, but being just part of the mob without having to worry about caring/worrying about anyone else was actually awesome.

That said, I'm bringing my wife along in June!

I bought my ticket because I wanted to see Green Day. I don’t say this to dismiss those uninterested in the openers. I don’t really care for them either. But I got a seat so I can zone out on my phone if want to. I’m just pumped for Green Day and now the album play throughs make it better for me. My ticket was also not totally insane price wise either.

Im a huge Smashing Pumpkins, but never liked any Green Day outside of Dookie/Insomniac. I just can't imagine there's much crossover with their fanbases, unlike the crossover they had with Weezer/FOB fans a couple of years ago.
But them doing Dookie in full is definitely intriguing. Might pick up a cheap ticket month of and bounce once Dookie wraps up.

On the other hand, I am very pumped to see Blink put on a stadium show.

When I like an opener it’s always a plus but if I like the headliner enough it doesn’t matter. Like I don’t care for PTV but I’m seeing blink either way haha

Green Day’s press leading up to Saviors seemed vastly superior to Blink’s with One More Time but yet OMT sold more. I’m a little surprised.

Blink had the "reunion" factor while GD was coming off their worst received album ever which I'm sure put them over the top. I'd be interested to see how the next Blink album does

If Billie Joe left the band ten years ago and Green Day released two albums with Davey Havoc, and this was the first album with Billie back... Then I think they would be comparable

Only advantage Green Day has over Blink, as far as popularity, is the lip-ringed heart throb duo of Mikey Dirnt and Tre Cool.

  25. Paramore’s “everyone was freaking out about sales” is gonna sell 20k more first week. Let’s be honest it’s not great numbers!

great album, early tracking is not very good
