The Grammys are totally pointless, and even more of a consistent disappointment than the Oscars (no AOTY nod for Chance? wtf). That said, it's still cool for them to be recognized. Honestly though, Weezer had the best album out of that bunch (and the Panic! album isn't even rock).

 

I'm happy for the whole band, but as a long time Trio fan, I'm super happy for Matt for helping create a Grammy-nominated album. So rad.

 

If it wasn't for the success of "Bored to Death", blink wouldn't even be considered to be on this list. Also, that Weezer album is pretty great.

 

Lol yeah I'm rooting for blink but if I had to honestly vote, Weezer is above them on my list this year. That Panic album didn't have much lasting value for me regardless of what genre it is haha.

 

I can't believe in 2016 both Blink 182 AND Weezer got a grammy nomination. Blink's first in their career and basically Weezer's too (the Beverly Hills music video got a nomination in 2006).

 

That's awesome for Blink. Hope they win it.

I'll be shocked if Drake doesn't win AOTY considering how long his album has been number one.

I'm surprised Green Day isn't on that list and Disturbed is hahaha

 

Revolution Radio isn't eligible for this year.

 

I didn't think they'd be nominated at all. Rock music this year was pretty stacked but since they beat my odds on it, I'm gonna go ahead and say I won't be surprised if they win, especially since it's mostly a popularity contest these days anyway. Out of all the albums and bands in that category, they've had the most massive tour, promo push, successful single and managed to be the first to break Drake's streak even if it was only for a week.

 

i dont care if it was a mediocre album. and even though the grammys arent very credible, i would love to see them win, with all the shit they have gone through these past 10 years

 

Yeah I would absolutely go nuts if they win. I'm kinda hoping they even get asked to perform, but since they only have one nomination I don't really see that happening.

And honestly their only real competition here is Cage the Elephant.....every one of their albums has been nominated for Best Rock Album (one year was alternative) and they've never won. Seems like they're just as due.

 

I thought Cage's newest album was very underwhelming. I'm not a diehard fan of them, but I do enjoy a good portion of their songs. Their newest album has a couple of good ones, but overall it's lacks any punch at all to me.

 

I want them to win since blink is my favorite band. I think they have a good chance since Grammys are basically bought now and I'm sure Travis has connections

 

Perfect word to describe it, it lacks "punch." Especially for a band that put out that debut self titled (still one of my all time favorite albums, a go-to listen when at the gym). But still, the Grammys love them for some reason.

 

I just want them to win just so Matt fucking Skiba could win a Grammy.

 

This just illustrates how worthless the Grammy's really are.

Grammy's have a habit of nominating past-their-prime acts for the rock category for some reason

 

Even though California shouldn't have been blinks first album to be nominated, i think itd be an abomination if blink-182 was never nominated (and never won) a Grammy. I still don't understand how untitled never got a nom but that was a different time. I also think blink should be in the rock n roll hall of fame, hopefully that's their next goal

 

I think a lot of you are underestimating how much non blink fans absolute hate Tom Delonge.

I just checked. The year Untitled would have been eligible, HOOBASTANK was instead nominated for Best Rock Album. Jesus.

American Idiot and Hot Fuss were also rightfully nominated (along with Velvet Revolver and Elvis Costello), but come on Untitled is better than all five of those albums they picked.
