I really enjoy California but it's slipped a bit for me because I was hoping Matt's voice would grow on me but it just hasn't. I seriously just don't like his voice. Mark sounds better than he has in a decade and carries the album for me, but yeah, just not a fan of Matt.

 

I've done this so many times. One time I dreamt a New Found Glory song that was so good it gave me chills, and then when I woke up I forgot what it even sounded like. I've also dreamt several times that I was the first to find a new, secret song on popular old albums. Haha.

Definitely my feelings. And holy shit I was surprised by those high notes at 3:14. Sounded pretty cool.

 

I wanted to share with you that I saw the Descendents playing for the first time live last friday. They were sharp, fast, (REALLY) loud and energetic. I was definitely excited with their set, although not surprised by how good they sounded. And to be fairly honest, I only started listening to them after blink covered "Hope" back in 2003 and because Mark, Travis and Tom were always mentioning them as one of their biggest influences.

Of course I appreciate and understand the importance they have to punk rock music as a whole, but I think blink fans (and pop-punk fans in general) get trashed a lot about how it ruined "true punk rock music", and I call bullshit on that. A decade ago, kids that liked this type of music my age clearly understood and learned much from researching bands that came before the ones we were listening to, and it definitely benefits these artists by us going to shows and buying their albums nowadays.

Anyway, just ramdomly putting this out there.

I don't really put much merit in the Grammy's anymore, but it was still kind of cool to see their name pop up.

I doubt that they will win but it's still pretty sweet that they got a nomination.

 

Never cared a lick about the Grammys but that would be awesome if they won. Sure they'll give it to Cage the Elephant though.

 

Can you imagine a Grammy win for Matt Skiba? I can't even imagine how weird/exciting that would be for him.

 

I mean they don't mean anything to the general public, but I hope they win! How pissed would Tom be?
