    Speculation/wishful thinking on time line:

Alkaline Trio records new album November '16 to early 2017.

Quick Trio tour from March/April 17 to June 17.

Blink European tour July 17 to September 17.

Trio tour October 17 to December 17.

Blink goes back into the studio January 2018 for new album to come out in June/July '18.

Sounds good to me. Lol and it's not even far fetched because Matt is always doing some music. Just depends on Travis really.

I could see that working with Travis' schedule too. The only issue would be his touring schedule with the other bands, but really blink would just need him for the European tour in the summer of 2017 and beginning of January to start the new album. His schedule would be much lighter than Matt's. He's the one I'm worried about.

It's kind of funny how Matt and Travis have all these other side projects and such and then there's Mark who will probably just hang out with his family, play video games and go on vacations (not that there's anything wrong with that).

Only one US tour for California though?

It's more likely that Trio doesn't get back together to record until the start of the new year, finish up by the time Matt has to be back on the road with Blink in the summer and release/tour in the fall/winter.

It was huge so yeah I assume if they're back on a two year cycle it's all they need

True. They'll probably hit up more festivals and that'll be good enough for them. Got too hopeful for a short "smaller" club tour

But it was long and massive. None of the venues were under 15,00 cap and a good chunk of them sold out. I don't really see any reason for them to do another unless there was a significant downsize, which wouldn't really make a lot of sense.

  11. Any word on the "Conversation with Blink-182" event lastnight? Judging the from the pictures I saw on Instagram, it looks like Travis fucked up his foot. He's wearing one of those gorgeous boot things.

Yeah Travis posted a picture of his foot a few days ago saying he thinks he might have broken it. It seems like he's always getting hurt and breaking bones.

And no I haven't heard anything on the event last night.

  15. I got the scoop from somebody on Reddit about the event lastnight:

"They actually just talked about the process of writing/recording California. Some of the topics they talked were: how Matt joined the band, John Feldman's producing role, Blink 182's evolution as a band, and song writing process. Mark mention that after the tour ends they'll start the whole promotion tour and a deluxe edition of California will come out . As to the questions they were asked: - will there be A DED vinyl and why they aren't there any songs from DED or neighborhoods in their current setlist? - Mark answered that he would love to have a vinyl but the truth is they've been lazy and since they self-released it and realize the need for a label. Also said it it's just a coincidence and that they actually had play wishing well and up all night - Next year marks Blink's 25th anniversary and Dude Ranch's 10th will they do anything special for both? Mark said he just realized it was Blink's 25th anniversary and will have to decide on which of the 2 they'll celebrate - What's the reason behind 182? Mark said the name came as the old label called him to ask regarding their new name due to a legal situation with the techno band blink. They thought of falling themselves Blink Jr. at one point. But after pressure from the label to choose a name over the phone; Mark just looked around and randomly decided for 182. He said he likes the theories fans have come up with since he thinks they're more interesting. -Did Matt ever had doubts about joining Blink 182 because of the potential animosity or schedule problem he might encounter? Matt said he never doubt and Mark knew his schedule so he could fill in for blink 182 for the shows blink has back in 2015. So far he hast get any animosity

As to the songs recorded before California Mar said that once they started working with John thy haven't revisit that set of songs."

  16. A deluxe version of California sounds interesting! I wonder if it will be what I predict, the EP they were going to release this year will be slapped onto the album as bonus tracks and there will be a DVD of the Making of California documentary.

    That'd be radical

Thanks for the write up. Man that question about the band name is so freaking lazy, they've talked about it a million times. Some of the other questions that were asked were interesting though. Especially about the 25th anniversary of the band and 20th of Dude Ranch.

As far as a deluxe version of California, yeah I agree with you, I bet we get 4 or 5 new songs (including Hey I'm Sorry) and the documentary. I'd love it if they recorded a couple of the California songs acoustically to go along with some of the new tracks. I don't think that's too farfetched considering Mark and Matt played those acoustic shows in England in June.

I love it if they released the pre-Feldmann demos, that would be interesting. Especially since the band said those songs were pretty dark compared to what ended up on California.

  18. Yeah the pre-Feldmann songs sound like they'd be a lot more in Mark and Matt's usual style, which would be interesting to hear, for sure. I have a feeling we will probably never hear those though.

I can't believe anyone who would want to go that event still needed to ask the meaning behind "182".

I was really hoping they would have gotten Bill Stevenson. Still a chance in the future though.

Definitely more Matt's style. I always felt that Mark writing songs with darker tone and lyrics wasn't really in his comfort level. Give me poppy Mark any day of the week over dark Mark.
