Any chance of another Box Car Racer album?
You know, it's been mentioned [laughs]. That'd be cool, but it's hard because the last one caused so many problems with Blink. It was weird because at the time I was listening to Stanford Prison Experiment, Pitchfork, Quicksand, Fugazi, all these bands, and Tom [DeLonge] was like, "What the fuck is Quicksand?" He heard it and fell in love and really dived right into that whole post-hardcore genre.

We started writing and had no idea what it was going to be for. I think we were both under the impression in the beginning that it was going to be a Blink album. Then it was like, no let's do this cool little side project, but we won't put an album out. Then the label heard it and wanted to put it out. Then there wasn't going to be a tour, but they were like ah, you can do this tour. It just spiraled out of control. . . But I don't know. [Mark's] not in the band, so would it cause a lot of problems? Would it not? I have no idea. It's something I can't even wrap my head around just because I'm so proud of this album that we're currently supporting. But I love Box Car. It was a cool album and cool sound.

 

Who's excited to watch the Tom documentary? I am! It actually looks fairly interesting.

 

I'd be ok with this actually if it didn't cause issues with blink. I like boxcar +44 and Ava early work but I always always will prefer blink music and tour over their music and tour

 

The big question is where will this be online as being based in the UK means those channels don't exist over here...

I'd love a new Box Car Racer album if Jerry Finn were still alive. If it's just Tom and Travis writing together my interest would be piqued, but Jerry Finn is a huge reason for the great parts of that album so if Tom is still adamant against an outside producer I'm not super enthused by the idea.

 

I would want a Boxcar album if I thought Tom could write anything approaching the first one. But I don't think that. At all lol.

 

If he can write another good BCR album, then he can easily write a great Blink album. He just can't anymore. I don't think he has any interest in doing that kind of music. I mean, he even wrote "Letters To God pt 2" and it's NOTHING like the original. If he could do it justice, I'd be interested in a new BCR album.

 

....but he found out the same thing we learn when we die....

 

I've always thought BCR was insanely better than +44

Hard to compare the two objectively. Bcr incorporated a serious edge to pop punk which was something alot of blink fans were looking elsewhere to find at the time. +44 was watered down blink after we were left longing for more evolution post untitled.

 

I guess I can see that perspective but I listened to those two records at the same time (like 2011ish) so I just compared them for what they were

 

Yeah I'm a far bigger Mark fan and I still easily prefer BCR.

 

Yeah I hate that he even named that song that. Exactly why I don't think he could make an album like that again.

 

Anyone know if that Tom documentary can be streamed? Isn't that tonight? As much as i'm not a fan of him anymore sounds like it could be interesting.

 

I'm not a big Mark fan these days, honestly the last break up kind of soured him in my eyes a bit. Skiba is my favorite member of the band at this point, and Travis has always been great.

 

This song is largely forgettable, but I DO love when Maty chimes in with "I can feel my head, fallin off my neck"... Just something about that melody... But then I hit next. Haha

 

The cheese factor is so strong in KOTW but I go hard for the sing alongs I must admit

 

The breakup soured me on Tom by boat loads. But I didn't sour on Mark. If anything it made me respect him even more then I did.

 

there should be a fact check on how many times tom lies or tells the truth on this pursuit of tone documentary thing. i wonder.

 

well i had just gotten through to where tom talks about neighborhoods then the directv stream cuts out and says it's not available for another two weeks...cuss!

 

I'm interested in this as well.
