I am listening to Bored to Death 69 times and that is it

seriously though, gonna try and not listen to it too many times. Think we'll get a second single before the album is released?

 

I'm still gonna try and listen to it no more than 3 times. I don't think I'll be able to, but I'm gonna try hahaha.

 

I thought of Jordan being a good replacement when they were looking last year. Depending on how this album turns out. I think it'd be cool if they started bringing in different guitarist/singer for each album.. Justin Pierre, Jordan Pundik, Max Bemis, Shawn Harris, AJ Perdomo, Brian Sella, etc.

 

Half of that list I don't want anywhere near Blink, lol

 

I'd rather them just keep one lineup and work with that.

 

Lol yeah I got a bit carried away, I just wanted to list more than the first two

Obviously, I'd prefer to keep it more solidified, but if Matt goes back to doing ALK3 and the Sekrets, I'd rather see them take on this approach than nothing at all

 

all of those artists should be on the next angels and airwaves album instead lol

 

Never, think it's the perfect track to follow Adams song, the contrast makes it work. I only sometimes will skip mutt or Wendy clear.

With this discussion of a darker track coming out first, maybe they're saving the upbeat pop punk song for the next single.

 

They will all join angels and airwaves for a promo photo and music video.

I wouldn't mind some of those as cameos. Always been a huge Jordan pudnik fan. Or maybe get Chad on if they're going to do a punk song.

 

That could be true. FOB did that with MSKWYDITD.. Their second single, The Phoenix was bit more energetic, and i think that would've been a proper introduction song to FOB's reunion announcement.. The day all that happened still gets me excited remembering how happy I was.. Great way to announce a comeback.. Song, video, album announcement and then like a week later they bumped up the release date.

So like, all of these radio people have heard it...is there not a way that it could possibly leak before 4/28? I can't wait 8 more days.

 

Can't remember a leak of anything like this in the last years. Somehow they can handle it nowadays.

Could premier on Radio, online etc. on Thursday evening and go up on iTunes at midnight (Friday). That would make sense, I guess.

 

8 days... I can survive til then.. I think haha ugh

 

The wait would be manageable if we could just get some NEWS before then. Like, the actual news release from the band about the single release date, tour info, anything. Right now we're all in the dark just scouring the web for any tweets or instagram posts that even remotely hint at something Blink-related.

 

I'm super hyped to hear the song, but I really can't find it in me to be impatient. If Tom was still in the band, Mark would be twiddling his thumbs doing nothing. That they have an album completely done and are prepared to release new music 14 months after Skiba joined is pretty amazing to me.

 

Thank god Jordan Pundik didn't join. He would do nothing but push the band back. I love NFG but the last two records were mediocre.

A year ago, when they announced Skiba as a replacement, I remember thinking Justin Pierre, Jim Adkins and Ryan Key as my ideal choices. All great lyricists and their voices would complement Mark's by contrast. (I wondered about Davey Havok as well, but I don't even know if he plays guitar.)

By now I'm sold on Skiba, though. I hope he stays around. He totally fits live, his lyrics are a perfect companion to Mark's dark and poetic songs. While their vocals are both lower, they should be different enough to work well together. Matt has a much more powerful voice, whereas Mark is smoother.

Plus - and I'm probably in the minority here -, My Shame is True and Kuts are my favorite Skiba records, which is exciting.

 

It's self control! You can do it!

 

The song will premiere a couple days before that. I'm sticking with 4/26

Also holding out for Friday.
