I love it too. Blink was doing the minimalist icon art before it was cool haha.

    Sleekest of beaks. So Good.

Imagine if the art was a painting of Tom being abducted by a UFO.

I've really never had a problem with the Neighborhoods or Dogs Eating Dogs artwork. I mean yea, they could be a little more vibrant and a little less bland, but I think most people overreact. It's just artwork at the end of the day.

True, but artwork should be utilized to convey the feeling and tone of the album. Something that Enema, TOYPAJ, and self titled did very well. Hell, even The Mark Tom and Travis Show had great art for what it was.

The Dogs Eating Dogs artwork is an abomination against mankind lol. I don't mind the Neighborhoods artwork though

Judging by what you said there, the artwork for neighborhoods and dogs eating dogs was pretty fitting.... ZING!

There's no such thing as "it's just artwork". Artwork is a very important part of the album, it helps you introduce a visual idea or concept to audiences just like a good design/layout in a presentation enhances almost any piece of work you can think of. Remember all iconic album covers that made records even more memorable and recognizable than the music itself sometimes.

    haha bland, dull and uninspired?

It's not the greatest, but I actually like the artwork for for Up All Night.

Did After Midnight get artwork? After a quick search I can't find anything and I don't remember it getting the official single treatment.

This artwork is really cool, better than the one for the album itself. I just don't like the typography they chose to write 'Up All Night' at the top.

    Haha oh god...

It is really interesting how their visual aesthetic took on an urban LA vibe with their newer releases. To me, Self Titled was the only album that it was well-executed on. It's highlighted really well in the Down music video and the bonus videos on its enhanced cd (anyone remember those?).

It's still not as important as the music itself. If the artwork is completely terrible, but the album itself is incredible, then I'm not bothered by it. TOYPAJ for example isn't exactly stellar artwork, it's very minimal, but the album itself is great and the production is top notch, so it's not that big of a deal.

I never had a problem with that interlude, and also I really like The Fallen Interlude and the one on the +44 album

The interlude is fine but I don't think it really adds anything to the record other than making it harder to sit through haha

I'm a fan of instrumental interludes. I'm hoping for more with this album.

The Fallen Interlude is by far the best interlude any of those guys have made for a project. It's almost reminiscent of Gorillaz or something. Despite how jarring and uncharacteristic it was for blink, I think it fits so well into the album. With the piano sample and erie robotic vocals ("down down down"), it plays out like a haunted/foreboding remix of Down. Aside from maybe the outro on Box Car Racer, I think The Fallen Interlude is the only intro/interlude/outro that definitively makes its album better.

I remember the first time I sat down to listen to the self-titled album after buying the cd, I had only heard 3 leaked tracks and was going through the album from start to finish - when I got to The Fallen Interlude I was totally confused and impressed at the same time with how different it was from the rest of the album, but at the same time it sounded so good. I just can't skip that song when I reach track 7.

I consider the deluxe version the "actual album". None of those songs feel extraneous

Art can be minimal and not be bad. If the toypaj artwork was considered not great I don't think it'd be because it was minimal. Especially when you're talking about a band like blink

If I remember correctly, Mark and Tom aren't even on The Fallen Interlude.
