Guys do you remember how they did it with UON..or was it HAG back then? There was a special site and it took ages to load and there was some weird gamble...I can't really remember...but I disliked how they released it..

 

You had to click something at the right time or something. Like, there were a bunch of numbers scrolling and you had to click on 182? I think? I remember it was something with numbers and needing to get 182

my prediction is that the single is the song that has the "car to overturn" line in it. just got that feeling when the DC DJ said it was anthemic

 

can you imagine if they release the song and its amazing and then we have to wait for like an end of june album release

 

According to this interview the tour should be announced around this Friday

I actually really liked those games for HAG and After Midnight. Added to the hype of the new album.


Remember you could listen to the album with people in your area? You entered your digital download and it showed you who was listening in your area. I remember doing that and no one was listening in DC ha.

 

I mentioned that on an earlier page as well. I think the difference was that FOB had no pressure. They were able to write and get everything together relatively low key. Blink, for many reasons doesn't have that luxury. I think it was important for them, once they decided Matt made sense to record with that they let everyone know their plans for making a record.

 

Seriously just going to keep this page open as a tab at work every day over the next few weeks.

 

I think Mark, Travis and Matt have played it really well for there situation. So pumped to hear it.

 

Completely agree. I think with them saying they were making a record before the Tom stuff reached a breaking point, going through all of that drama in public, playing shows with Matt, and deciding to record with Matt that there is a lot going on. It just makes sense to keep the public engaged at that point. They also probably wanted to basically let all labels and producers know their intentions. I think they were backed into a corner a bit with some of their stuff. Travis and Mark are probably more antsy than we are to get things moving again. Was it ideal? No. But, is it the best approach, given the circumstances? Probably.

 

I agree with you all. Considering everything they went through since last year's events with Tom, they handled everything pretty well. Maybe except for some of Travis' statements about Mr. Delonge, but besides that they focused on the music and on making a great record and kept quiet about the rest. This is the best possible approach to the situation I guess.

 

Ahhhh I need to hear this new song! Those tweets got my hyped to the max.

 

I think Travis held his tongue a lot when Tom returned. It was obvious when he was in +44 that he disliked Tom.

They have been burned before, saying music was coming and then not being able to produce the goods, they are probably just taking their time to get everything ready, seeing as the music is done. So that when they do drop details its literally everything in one go, Single, Album Name/release, Tour dates. Make the most of a big news drop.

 

Who would've thought that Steve Aoki would be the one teasing us new blink music in the end.

 

What he did, he put 10 seconds of a really bad electro melody without any vocals. I think he is messing with us.

 

I think making the drama with Tom so public right at the beginning was the worst part of it, they should have kept that in a more private median. But it all worked out in the end they had a "friendly divorce" from him and moving forward and clearly having the time of their lives doing it.

 

I really wish we could know more about how this 'friendly divorce' was handled.

 

I want to know the "conditions" of it because I can't believe Tom just willingly gave up legal rights to the name blink-182.

 

Mark and Travis had the email that said he was out. That could possibly hold up in a court of law, but then again, I don't know.
