I've had a ton going on the last week, and have fallen 150 pages behind in the thread, BUT I heard Bored To Death, and I must say that I'm loving it. I had really little/no expectations from this project (wasn't a fan of +44 album, however I think if that album sounded half as good as BTD sounds, I may have been a fan), and it really delivered. Mark sounds reinvigorated, the bridge is the strongest part of the song, and the chorus explodes. I can see why the people that heard it early said it sounds like Adam's Song and STFTK.

Also, don't know how "veteran" fans of this band couldn't tell the difference between Mark and Matt. All said, I think I may go check out the X Games show in Austin and am finally excited for a new Blink album... Feels good :)

I am a big Alk fan along with Blink so I had no problem telling the difference, but this song doesn't make it easy on anyone who hasn't listened to Skiba quite a bit.

 

Same here. I had no problem telling the two apart, but I spoke to a couple of my friends last night who loved the song but had no idea Matt even sang on it on the first couple of listens. Neither of them like Trio much, but both grew up big Blink fans.

 

I loved blink, and I like some alkaline but not a major fan. I knew instantly that Skiba sung on this. Side note, skibas parts seem to be the ones stuck in my head most often

 

The bridge has literally been stuck in my head ever since my second or third listen. I catch myself singing "I think I met her at the minute that the rhythm was set down..." at least once a day.

 

Glad you liked it! Felt the same way going in and coming out.

This might just be me but the only thing I felt like the radio jockeys got right was the "mid-tempo" stuff. I did not get an Adam's song or "epic" style feel from BTD at all. I think it's largely because of the vocals in the bridge.

 

So the tickets at Jones Beach in my section went from $75 to $195, thank god I got them pre-sale haha.

 

Uggh. I hate not knowing my schedule right now. Depending on how it lays out, I'm gonna try to hit either the Atlanta or Nashville dates, but I have no idea which right now. Guess I'll have to splurge on StubHub.

 

Lol every time I hear the part about the dive bar I picture this ex of mine I met in a dive bar, slept with twice and dated for a week then things ended Lol

 

Only a casual alkaline trio fan but I could tell them apart. However, I don't want to admit this but sometimes I get confused between Dan and Matt in Alkaline songs

 

Touchdown Boy deserves some love. I love the chorus.

Nice to see you back. I think Skiba's voice sounds a little "cleaner" on BTD than it does in Trio, but yeah I think on the record it will be pretty easy to tell them apart, especially after a few listens.

 

I think listening to Good Mourning is the easiest way to tell them apart and get used to their different voices. Matt's is very raspy on that album, while Dan still has that smooth croon.
