I hate speculating, but we don't know which Tom we are dealing with here. Also, if he is getting compensated then he may not care at all. Just sucks that he could be ruining his brand with potential lies.

 

Listen to the audio of the interview with Mark. Mark said "haven't hadn't". He didn't really deny meeting. Maybe he corrected himself

 

This has nothing to do with anything but the intro to Lycanthrope always scares the shit out of me, even when I'm intentionally clicking it on. Just bursts out so loud so quickly

 

If Tom did cause a stir, you've got to believe Mark, Travis and Skiba would just continue playing under a different name, whether that be +44 or something different.

I'd imagine they would legally be allowed to use the name "blink-182 with Matt Skiba" if they so desired.

There' some stuff on that setlist I'd love to hear Matt do. Feeling This, Pathetic, Reckless Abandon...shit. All of them. I Miss You has such an infamous Tom verse that I would love to hear Matt do, even though (after years and years of hearing it) the song does nothing for me anymore. Matt kinda reinvigorates my interest in a lot of older tracks/singles.

Idk I think there's a lot of things happening behind the scenes here, I wouldn't take anything Tom or Mark say at face value.

 

I believe it is Mark. I read somewhere that he was screaming down a hall to record that part.

Skip to 4:20 for the discussion. He says he HADN'T spoken with Tom in a year and a half.

 

They made an article about a misquote from a interview...he said he HADN'T and NOT "hasn't"...

 

He also immediately said Tom's post came as a surprise to him, so the point he's making is essentially the same regardless of when he did or didn't speak to Tom.

 

I think the surprise factor was Tom's long speech not that they had talked

 

Agreed, but people were still freaking out about Tom mentioning that he had talked to Mark when apparently they didn't.

 

It sounds like they have now...It seems like they talked the one time, but hadn't talked until that point. There needs to be more context before everyone jumps to "Tom is a liar" conclusions...especially news websites

 

Exactly. Listening to it again it's clear that Mark said 'hadn't'. Still, it doesn't alter the fact that the possibility of them making music again is really distant. And there's another thing that Mark mentioned in another interview about Tom that had a bigger impact on me. He said "there's no animosity and no hard feelings, but at the same time, it doesn't mean everything's going to be ok, you know?"

 

And all these reasons are why I've been laughing at people saying in this thread that they can't wait to hear "this" song or "that" song (esp. Tom-only songs like "Wishing Well") as if the whole catalog is game.

I'm pretty sure Tom-only songs are off-limits live. There's clauses, legal tie-up because Tom is legally still 1/3rd of Blink, and there's no way Mark, Travis, and Matt are allowed to play songs that are Tom-only.

Sorry. The sets will be all Mark songs (and the new album ones, obviously).

I've literally seen them since Skiba joined the band and half the set was Tom songs.

 

To clarify: are these songs with Tom featured in it? Or Tom-only songs?

I'm in the Tom might take legal action camp, so my sentiment still stands.

 

I wasn't even going to justify it with a proper response. There are no words for how dumb that was.

Fair. But if things don't go the way he wants with the album, tour, etc. messing with the "legacy" (as he says), I think he can step in/influence decisions.
