Blink sent a tweet out a few minutes ago about pre-ordering their record and getting a pre-sale code. Lots of people have not gotten theirs yet.

    I'm flailing now.

So true. All you have to do is go to a Blink concert to know how processed vocals are on the albums.

As a side note. I went to the first AVA show at the Glasshouse in Pomona, CA and I swear he lip synch or sang over a track (like that live Adventure track) that whole evening. It was a tiny place, like maybe 400 people.

    Things have changed.

He definitely used live pitch correction back in the early AVA days -- not sure when he stopped using it, but I definitely heard it on that AVA/TBS tour. Lots of artists use it live, but he's such a bad singer that it was REALLY noticeable as he strained to hit notes.

I'm kinda glad it hasn't. I'm still giving BTD a really good listen to (though I'm taking a break from it...I had it on for like 48 hours straight haha). Want this to sink in before the album hits.

Wait... backing up a few posts for just a second... you're telling me Blink doesn't record and release all their albums live and untouched?

Well this band's dead to me.

Stoked that this record comes out right when I'll probably get sick of the Weezer record

Blink-182 Take It Back To The Beginning With New Album

Barker: I think when we wrote the song “Cynical” everyone was immediately like that song should be first on the album, it was an ass-kicker and it was really fast and fun. So that was one we were excited about. They’re like your children, you like them all. I like all 28 of them. I’ve almost strangled John [Feldmann] picking the 14 we put on the album cause they’re all so good.

Hoppus: Well songs like “Rabbit Hole,” that have this big anthemic gang vocal at the end of it. There’s a song called “No Future,” there are a lot of really energetic, anthemic, angst-y fun rock songs I can’t wait to play live. This album is really rich with sing-along melodies and sing-along choruses. When I go to a show I want to sing along with the band. I still have that energy of going to see Bad Religion at the Palladium and wanting to sing every single word and I think this album has a lot of that for people.

I think this drums recording clip is for Cynical.

I like how Travis keeps saying ass kicker for Cynical and Rabbit Hole. And Mark describing how a lot of these songs are designed to be sung along live is awesome. I am so ready for this record.

I have made it clear many times on ap.net I'm no Feldmann fan with very few exceptions. But this blink song sounds great and is completely in line with blink production at their height. Anybody complaining about how this song sounds, I am seriously at a loss haha.

I've always enjoyed Feldmann's work. The Used S/t and Story of the Year's Page Avenue are 2 of my all time favorites.

I'm not a fan of the way the vocals are mixed. They could be a lot more prevalent and a lot less layered in some areas.

Is the email from the code coming from Kings Road or another name? Man, I hope these come through before tomorrow

I think the biggest thing for me more is not so much John's actual work on the albums, but rather the bands he is working with. I love the first few Used records. I really really like the Story of the Year stuff he has worked on.

It comes from Kings Road, but it's a marketing distribution campaign that is running it.

Edit: VerticalResponse Marketing is the company that is running Kings Road email campaign for the codes.

the ships have all sailed to the sea

I dig Feldmann's work, mostly his The Used/SOTY stuff, which I know was a long time ago, but still. As cool as it would be for the band to work with Bill Stevenson or Mark Trombino, I think Feldmann was a great choice for the first album of the band's rebirth. Blink needs to sound huge coming off of Neighborhoods/DED.

First two Used albums, SOTY's first album, PATD's Vices and Virtues a few of my exceptions. After The Used and SOTY he really got stuck at reusing his own template and going way overboard with it.

As for presale codes, I just found mine in "promotions" on my gmail, it came Fri at 4:30 apparently. Everything else from Kings Road was in my main inbox.

It's been about a full 48 hours since ordering for me. I've been checking all my folders pretty religiously, even using the manual search function. Haha. Still no code. I really hope it's here by the end of the day, if not, I guess I'm fucked.

we've seen the shadow of the axe before Supporter

Preorders are up at Shop Radio Cast but theirs appears to be the standard retail.

Also, the white variant is back up on Kings Road Merch.
