I sure do love Matt Skiba! He actually might be my favorite member of blink now, haha

Matt's voice could work really well with those 'darker', more moody tracks like I Miss You. I'd be interested to see if there are any of those on the new record.

I think I'm most excited to hear "Cynical" and "Rabbit Hole" now after reading these new interviews.

Where do they talk about Rabbit hole? What did they say about it?

Final question: What feels good right now? As you prep for tour, what songs are feeling especially fantastic to play live?

TB: We’re playing our single, “Bored to Death,” but then there are fan favorites that kids will hear without hearing the recorded version and instantly love. There’s a song called “Rabbit Hole” that I think will do really awesome. We play this amazing track called “Brohemian Rhapsody” that’s kind of a cool, 15-second ass-kicker that’s kind of fun. I’m anxious to play new stuff and make the set musical and bring songs to the set a little bit differently than we have in the past.

Looking to this thread to try and find an answer. Has anyone been able to find the pricing for the 3 VIP packages?

Travis had a radio interview and said it was like a pretty fast, old-school type of song to start out the album. I can't find the link because the clip was posted somewhere in this thread, but that was the summary of what he said.

Yup. I just listened and the direct quote was:

“There’s songs like Cynical that take you back to the early days of Blink, and it’s kind of an ass-kicker."

Mark also talks about it in that RollingStone article. Says something to the effect of "we just wanted to capture the energy and not really worry about all the knobs"

Whoever (those quoted and those reading this) posts the best Blink related gif, I'll give my presale code to.

Deadline is 10 PM tonight. Also give you guys more time to receive your code from King's Road.

Actually, I don't want to spam the thread, just DM me with the gif.

It was actually from that random audio interview with Travis posted a few pages back. Not entirely sure what outlet was even conducting it.

Yeah, I deleted my post because I saw that you covered it and I was mistaken. I'll fall back haha.

Haha, it's all good. I'm sure the quotes about that sound from the Rolling Stone article are probably referencing Cynical. B-)

FUCKIN SAVAGES IN THAT FUCKIN BOX Prestigious

The verses are very Trio. The verse riff feels like Adam's Song but also feels like it could have been on his Heavens album to me. Tom's suggestion that Feldmann wrote this for them is horseshit, it's a perfect mix of classic blink with Skiba's contribution totally apparent.

48 hours since my order and still no code.

If I don't receive it by tomorrow and there is anyone with an extra code, I'll be forever grateful!

I normally don't care when people say things but Tom's FB post got me fucking irate. Bitterness is so palpable. At least it's clear that part of his exit was that he didn't want to have producers involved in the song-writing which is just asinine.

Sorry to repeat myself or to suggest you haven't already done this, but for all the people worrying about their presale codes, I was worried about mine yesterday too. Then I checked and saw it was in my spam folder for whatever reason. Look there and I hope some of you might find it or receive yours in your normal folder soon.

    Things have changed.

He never said Feldmann wrote anything outright, just that Mark and Travis seemed to be eager/needed to work with an outside songwriter. That said, Feldmann's melodic fingerprints are all over this song.

Let's not get into who wrote what where. Without one of them explicitly telling us, we have no clue.

Well all I'm saying is Tom isn't accusing them of having someone else write all the songs. That's not what Feldmann does. He's very heavily involved in the writing of every album he works on and fosters a real sense of collaboration while pushing the artists' own songwriting. It's not an indictment of anything, just that bringing him AND Skiba in results in both of their new voices and writing styles evident in the song.

As it should be. The role of a producer is to guide a band and give them an overall sound that the band is happy with. Just looking at Tom's personality, he wants to be the driver's seat and is not in the state of mind to listen to the advice of anyone else. That's why he has a million solo projects.
