If the California sound is 'John Feldmanns' sound, it's bad that Blink does his own sound better then his band.

Fall/Winter 2018 to Spring 2019 works for me. Don't want Mark catching that block again lol

  3. Well yea, this is true. It's such a simple formula he can't nail on his own.

Blink has always been a summer band for me so I'm digging the summertime releases haha. S/T was alright as a fall release, but I remember it not growing on me fully until spring/summer. Neighborhoods was always a late summer/very, very, early fall vibe for me too.

BCR and +44 are more than welcome for Fall/Winter releases though lol.

You have a point. Blink is a very good summer release band...but can be enjoyed all year round!

blink just put out 27 songs and most of them sounded the same and maybe half of them were decent, even less were legitimately great. Putting out another album with John Feldmann within a year does not get me amped at all. Good on them if they're happy creatively and commercially and fans are happy but I've lost interest with just about the entire genre of pop punk because so many bands just put out the same record every year or two. I don't want blink to be another New Found Glory. I want them to keep growing up, because the growth of Mark Hoppus as a lyricist and songwriter and the growth in blink-182's sonic aesthetic from Dude Ranch to Enema/TOYPAJ to untitled to +44 is what invests me in blink-182, not a bunch of fun, simple pop songs. I know a lot of people who love blink actually do love blink for the fun, simple pop songs though, and I'm just a fan who doesn't expect blink to make records for me. But they'll lose me if this is what they continue to pursue past the California era.

Whoaaa nelly! Lol before I start let me just say I'm positive this post has been written probably about 1000 times in this forum and though i completely understand and agree with you to an extent, it's a tired argument/perspective that I don't see the need to repeat and turn this into Groundhogs Day. I also think I'm allowed to laugh at others people's opinions (see: Tucker Carlson, etc). But sticking to the music, I laugh at others people's taste in music a lot and Vice Versa. I'm from Texas, and My group of friends is pretty diverse, my best friends love country music and i'll laugh when they put that on and they'll laugh when i put on my kind of music. it's not meant to be melicious or judging, and most of the time i don't mind it, same with them, they'll make a funny comment on a song and then life just goes on (shocking, right?) . I don't judge people's personalities/morals/values because they like different things or have different opinions.
So in reference to your gf's sister and the tweets I was laughing at, im sure they're great, lovely people, and I'm happy they have a different (sometimes life-changing) experience with the album. I just simply think it's funny (not taking stances here, just harmless laughing) that their are some people out there who think this is blinks best record, or what i was originally laughing at, best album ever.

Same would go with movies, people have every right to say The Lion King 2: Simbas Pride is the best movie ever, but I don't think it's crazy or wrong to then think about every other movie that has ever been made in the history of the world and think, "cmon now".

I can see the sticker on the album now "FEAT TRAVIS BARKER OF BLINK 182!!" and "PRODUCER FROM THE GRAMMY NOM ALBUM CALIFORNIA!"

Oh God, the Goldfinger artwork (think it's the album art) even has skulls. Where have I seen that recently lol

Why do people think that the band that wrote 'Family Reunion' will grow up and be more mature and evolve?

I get the desire for it, but I've made the Will Ferrell comparison before. Do you think he's gonna start trying to do some more serious acting roles at any point? He is what he is and has his market. Doesn't mean he can't do it, he just may not want to.

Blink seems happy with California. I wouldn't expect a big style change considering it'll only bbe his second record with Matt. Plus, Trio's stuff is already a bit dark, so maybe Matt enjoys the pop punk outlet.

The Untitled album was their "Everything Must Go," a Will Ferrell outlier lol

Is it? I wasn't expecting much but you liked California and loved Makes Me Sick so I'm a bit more intrigued now. Not crazy about the single but I don't judge an album by one song.

  24. I mean, if you liked Goldfinger (and I totally did) ... no reason this won't be right in your wheelhouse.

There's even horns on it.

Through Open Your Eyes I loved Goldfinger. I like Goldfinger horns. Officially cautiously optimistic now.
