This was not even remotely funny.

 

Comparing Trio to blink is weird cause I've always felt there's no comparison songwriting-wise in favor of the Trio guys. So where I could never say California is better than those, I enjoy California far more than any of those albums. And I can say I love all those records except Party Adjacent, I just can't really get super into Dan's solo stuff for some reason. Not that it's bad by any measure.

Let's just all agree Skiba is awesome whether he's doing Blink alkaline or whatever! :)

I just read that Guitar World article. Wow that just reaffirms how much I think Matt is just a cool dude. He seems so grateful. From what I interpret in that interview he is in no way unhappy with this arrangement and he's loving doing it.

 

Yeah if anything it makes me more worried about the future of Alkaline Trio, he seems fully invested in blink.

 

Man, in that interview with Edge Fest Matt was FINALLY asked about Alkaline Trio. Matt's tone and his answer didn't seem too promising about anything new from Alkaline Trio any time soon. (They just have a show coming up, Blink is priority, The other guys in Alkaline Trio have their own stuff going on and the other guys are dads).

 

That thing about the 63 year old lady made me laugh

 

With all the Trio talk... I know Blink said they were gonna get into the studio again soon... what IF it weren't with Matt though? Tom's book stuff could/(should?) be wrapped up around then... And did we ever get any sort of confirmation of how long Tom agreed to let Matt fill in? I'm interested in what someone mentioned earlier, and that's pulling a Sum 41 and just keeping everyone. Blink could benefit from 2 guitars live (especially if Tom's playing one of them)

Alas, that will never happen, and who knows about everything else. This band's ambiguity is probably it's most frustrating aspect

 

Tom put them down for working with Feldmann. Mark wouldn't have any interest at all working with Tom. He still has to direct his crappy sci-fi movie about the guy with his dick hanging out anyways.

 

I don't know how Blink managed to oame off so well in that interview... Those interviewers were awful.

 

I think it will be with matt. Mark and Travis seem to be having the times of their lives right now as does Matt. Whether or not they actually go in at the end of the year or if they wait for Matt to do alkaline first then go is in the air

Well from those descriptions it looks like lyrically these other songs will be quite bland.

Especially wildfire: "there's not really any special meaning behind it other than starting a wildfire."
