I wonder if they'll start playing Misery on this tour. I hope so. Probably not though

 

I know, right. I'm so dead on.

 

I was planning to just listening Menzingers whole day for tomorrow's show and I wrote this here before haha but Misery is fucking unbelievable..for real..I love Blink since I was 10 yo since TOYPAJ and Trio since like 14 and these two bands were my most favorite for long time...but man this is exactly song that makes me fucking happy and as probably unpopular opinion I have to say my favorite part is that Matts prechorus...it just whole sounds as something from Agony&Irony to me which was really popy...maybe it's kinda childish but I can't complain about anything these two guys ever recorded...iam just happy for them both see them happy to make music they like

 

Posts like this warm my heart lol. I agree though I love everything about this song even the pre Chorus and I can't get enough of the song

 

Not lie...iam listening nothing but Misery since it was released and can't get enough too...and i say that as somebody whos favorite blink record is Untitled...

 

Heyyyyy my favorite too! And same here lol the song has been on repeat every drive to and from work lol.

 

The show was great! I think Bored to Death was the highlight. Singing along with the crowd to that one was special.

 

I want to hear 6/8!

What do you hope fans take away from this latest set of songs?

I think that if people like the album California, they will love the deluxe. A lot of times, bands put on songs that are kind of garbage songs, that they didn’t feel were strong enough to put on the actual album. And we honestly felt that this group of songs were strong enough that it could be the foundation for another record.

Some of the songs are a little bit more experimental than what we put on the record. There’s a song called "6-8" that’s a very heavy song, it’s in 6/8 time which is why we titled it "6-8." "Bottom of the Ocean" is a little more electronic sounding, and "Good Old Days" is inspired by dance music of the late '90s, early 2000s. Hopefully people will check it out and like the experimentation.

My other favorite part about bands releasing new stuff is the promotional interviews where they talk about the new songs, excited for 6-8!

 

Same! I remember Mark saying it's the heaviest thing they've done and that it could possibly be called borderline Metal from blink lol

 

Guys guys! The album leaked! It's so gooood! They went all out with the landscapes man, it's full of arpeggios and sick assss riffs. When i was listening to it, babies started to cry in unison with tears of joy and for a brief moment, worldpeace was achieved. I texted my buddy Donnie T the album was out, and he pretty much ran out of his office to listen, he's not a man of many words (but trust me, he's like a smart person) and he said he thought the album was 'great' and felt 'yuuuge'

Also, Misery is pretty solid track. However I think I like Parking Lot better because of lyrics. Namedropping and "good old days" reflection is a-OK with me, I think it fits the current band's mood/feel/music great.

In case of Misery, I just... I just don't really believe the song. Which is a strange thing, because First Date or Rock show, for example, were "forced" hits. If I'm not mistaken, label guys asked for more radio-friendly songs, and Mark/Tom made Rock Show/First date within a few hours. And even with this fact in mind, 17yr old me loved the songs. And I wonder, maybe my current age (27) is the key factor of not accepting California as "one of the greatest" blink albums. I think 17yr old me would've been stoked for the album, especially w/ Skiba, because I was a great fan of Trio/Skiba.

Fair opinion I can accept that. I prefer Misery over PL, mainly because I've been at a real low point in my life back in 2008 that the lyrics to Misery resonate with me very well on(and everything else about the song). Still love PL too though.

My favorite thing about the show last night: the band starts playing Los Angeles and the guy next to me says "I hate this song" then leaves and doesn't come back.

Like, he sat through the whole set, then can't sit through LA? Plus he missed ATST and Dammit. I don't get it.

 

Plus IMO Los Angeles sounds awesome live, I think better then it does on the album

 

Coworker: I listened to the two new Linkin Park and the two new Blink songs on my way here today. The Blink songs are so much better then those horrible LP songs.

Me: That's like picking between two episodes of Sesame Street or two episodes of Game of Thrones/ Breaking Bad and saying which one is better.

 

I haven't listened to new LP, but I noticed that Mark added Heavy to his list of favorite songs on Spotify. I thought that was interesting because I've heard nothing but bad things about it haha.

 

I'm surprised by that...it's so bad. But not as bad as Battle Symphony

 

After all the +44 talk I went back and listened to it and I think it's still a great album. When your heart stops beating is probably in my top 3 of singles that either mark or tom has put out

 

"Baby Come On" is my jam.

 

Does anybody else hear that ,,tune" on Marks voice like 3 times in that bridge?sounds like something what used to be ,,90s boyband thing"...it's so awesome lol
