I'm loving the generally positive reception to Misery, even on their Facebook and YouTube where people normally complain about there being no Tom. Shows how good this song is.

    Noiiiiiiiice

I did not like Parking Lot too much, but dang, Misery is really good.

I also keep singing that line from "Good Old Days" and I know that'll be a killer song. So of those 4 deluxe songs we've heard/sampled (Hey I'm Sorry, Parking Lot, Misery, Good Old Days), I'm 3/4 which I'm pretty happy with.

I have a feeling Parking Lot will come around to me like Rabbit Hole did. Not a favorite, but will blend in.

  4. After a proper listen, I can honestly say I get a Trio vibe from Misery. Matt really carries the song. I kind of feel Matt is showing up Mark aha.

See, I felt Matt outshined Mark on Parking Lot. I think they compliment each other like crazy on this one I think the reason this song is so dang good is because they both do superb on this one. Parking lot I sing along with matt. This one I am happily singing along with both

I would say Matt is the best part of this song, but hot damn, that bridge has been stuck in my head all day. Mark and Matt go together very well on this one.

Like a few others have said here I honestly don't look at them going right back into the studio at the end of this year as good news, being a massive Alkaline Trio fan. After getting so much Blink music this year and last year I can take a year off from getting new music from them, it's been 4 since the last Trio album.

That said, this song is fucking awesome. Definitely better than Parking Lot, though I really love Hey I'm Sorry so I'll have to see which one I eventually like better. This deluxe album is shaping up to be great.

I think the dual vocals thing works well on this song but I really hope we get some solo songs from the singers from this project, or at least the next one. Parking Lot would have been great as a Matt-only song (and so would Left Alone and a few others on OG California). I'm surprised we haven't even gotten a solo Mark song

I still get goosebumps from the Misery's bridge even after listen to the song more than 10 times.

You would get goosebumps from your own bridge Mark.

  10. Marks voice would be dull and boring without Matt in the mix.

    Where is "Good Old Days"?

  12. I like Misery for what it is but Mark's voice prevents it from being a great song.

  13. Also, did Matt have a hand in writing Misery ?

Oooo sounds promising. I'm done listening to anymore released tracks until the full Deluxe is here though.

  16. I think that's why I don't love the +44 album

  17. See that's how I feel. I love Mark and he has great songs but he needs someone to compliment him.

  18. I didn't like the +44 album when it came out but I've come to appreciate it more over the last few years.

Have no idea why they released that "Parking Lot" turd before this... The fact "Misery" is having a good reception compared to that is very telling.

Great song, it would probably be in my top 5 of California. Love the overall dynamic, the soft and raspy contrast between Mark and Matt. I could do with better lyrics (like avoiding the ultra-cliché of "Misery loves company") because I know they are capable of so much better, but they are at least decent this time.

Exactly this for me. I love the album now. I think it's some of Mark's best work, especially lyrically.

I like Marks vocals, always have. I agree it's best when he has someone complimenting him but I have always enjoyed his vocals. Loved +44, and I will admit I like when he does the deep voice singing like he does on the verses in Misery.

This is the part that bugs me the most about the song. Seems like they are headed in the right direction though.

+44 is better than the last two Blink albums, that album is wonderful
