Reddit is drunk again, someone call them an Uber before they try to drive home.

 

If they mean the only album you can identify the song writer than maybe.

I've always thought that I can easily tell who wrote what if you take the vocals out. I can't do that with any other blink album (not inc. DED)
I assume that's with the not writing in same room deal for all but the best songs

 

You have Carousel, Dammit, Pathetic, Man Overboard, Everytime I look for you, Feeling This, and Cynical.....I approve. I actually wish this was their setlist, but mixed up.

 

The person that posted that on Reddit went on to comment that they have a hard time telling the difference between Asthenia and Here's Your Letter soooo... Grain of salt lol

 

Can't wait for the person's next comment about how they were a big fan of the band when they were just called 'blink'.

 

I dunno that reddit premise is not that entirely off-base. Cheshire, Dude Ranch, Enema, and TOYPAJ are a lot of fast pop punk songs with a couple mid-tempo pop punk songs. The guitar tones, drums, lyrical content, and vocal melodies are all pretttyyyy similar. Neighborhoods has plenty of flaws but thinking on it, each song is pretty sonically different from each other song (excepting maybe Wishing Well/This Is Home/Even if She Falls). Fighting the Gravity, Kaleidoscope, After Midnight, Up All Night, Hearts All Gone, those are all prettyyyyy different from one another.

Where I'd disagree is I think untitled has plenty of sonic range, they've got acoustic guitar/brush drums on I Miss You, synthy 80s pop on Always, fast pop punk on Go, a sprawling ballad in Lost Without You, a super tuned down, heavy song on Obvious, a poppy, dynamic, and melodic song in Feeling This, electronic experimentation in Fallen Interlude, etc.

But on premise alone, Neighborhoods is pretty markedly unique from song to song in comparison to the pre-untitled albums.

Just reading that again only solidifies why I'm glad Tom is gone. I'm not going to hate on the guy, but Blink is much better off without him. He can say "I love that band. I started that band" all he wants and post nostalgic pictures on IG, but when he was actually in the band, his heart wasn't in it.

I do remember reading or watching an interview with Tom where someone asked why his voice/singing style had changed. His answer was something along of the lines of "I learned how to sing."

Knowing Tom it contains documents about a 'Sekret meeting'

 

So John Feldman was just on instagram live and played clips from 3 songs he recently produced and one of them was Good Old Days from Blink. Not sure if anyway recorded it but I thought it sounded pretty good. The clip seeemed like the chorus of the song and the lyrics were about what you imagine them being but the music itself sounded great.

 

I hope this is true and someone ripped it

 

Yeah absolutely. Not sure how anyone can defend Tom's actions or why they would want him back except for nostalgia purposes.

 

Nostalgia is the only reason I would ever want him back. Other than that....I'd be perfectly fine with him joining them on special occasions/anniversary shows, have him still release AVA stuff, and have him not be involved in Blink's writing process from here on out haha. Go Skiba.

And beyond that, just from the perspective of a guitar player...he doesn't care enough about his instrument to even practice. That much is obvious by how much worse he gets.

 

Don't care what anyone says about him. My feelings have changed about Tom in the most positive way ever since I watched that Ernie Ball doc.

 

I can understand this, dude used to be my idol back in the day. His musical prowess has gone down hill though for other ventures; and that's totally cool. Still appreciate the dude and all he did, would even still say I'm a fan. Just don't want him back in Blink unless he has some huge giant epiphany and I'll still poke fun at him like you do that one friend that's easily picked on but you know it's in good fun
