Perhaps Mark and Travis didn't owe Tom the 'respect' of asking him after quitting the band for at least the 3rd time and making things within the band difficult since they reformed. Plus why should they call him up and ask him if it was ok after he signed a contract to record a new album on Christmas Eve of 2014 and then less than a week later on 12/30 Tom's manager emails the band saying he's out. Isn't that more disrespectful? Shouldn't Tom have called them up and spoke to them directly about his decision instead of having someone do it for him again?

Not saying Mark and Travis are 'right' or innocent as all 3 guys handled the 2nd public break up pretty poorly but suggesting Mark and Travis disrespected Tom is kind of funny.

And no one conveniently left those quotes out of the article, it's the same stuff Tom has been saying since January 2015 just in a newer article. We all know Tom still owns the band and he named the band and he hates touring etc.

 

The fact of the matter is if Tom wasn't cool with them continuing with Skiba he would have shut it down. So really all of you dicks on here who are hating on Tom but like Blink with Skiba more should really be thanking Tom for allowing blink to continue without him.

 

With Tom in the band, i'm more skeptical about whether or not i'm going to like it. After hearing California, and living with it for a few months now, I'm stoked as hell for whatever they do with Matt. And from the sounds of it, I may even like the deluxe version more than the standard, so I'm prettttttty pumped on it.

If the deluxe album is fucking amazing, then I'd be bummed as hell if Tom just popped back into the band just because he can.

 

Let never put it in another perspective. You are the manager of a business. One member of your team, who used to be a very good employee but in the past few years despite counseling continues to not show up or put in the work he used to. So do you replace him with someone willing to work who can help keep morale and productivity going or do you keep the employee on board who is halting work and bringing morale down? You replace the employee and you generally don't ask their permission before replacing them. It's not the same as what tom is doing, so no I don't think they were

 

The amount of times Tom was disrespectful to blink FAR outnumbers anything they did to him lol.

 

Oh yes it's by toms grace this is possible all hail Tom. It's by his design that Blink is successful without him.

Haha, clearly I was half joking. I agree with what you said about all three members handling everything very poorly. I just get upset when people don't give Tom the respect he deserves.

This is a pretty bad analogy. I just firmly believe Tom was too important to be replaced still but I'm obviously in the minority here.

 

Pretty ironic you're telling me to grow up when we're discussing the band who got famous for "what's my age again?"

Also: I think the tom quotes, be they true or false, do sound quite arrogant.

 

You can respect the guy but still be happy he's not in the band right now or be disappointed in how he handled himself with regardings to leaving blink again.

A month ago i was certain that by this time, we'd have a new song and a firm release date for the deluxe edition. Sad! (ending a post Trump style never gets old)

 

I don't even remember who Tom is tbh. He's forgotten.

 

Or I can be upset that the band I grew up loving is now a shell of it's former self without Tom Delonge but thanks for telling me my options on how I should think bud.

 

Also I still stand by the comment before that if Tom wanted to be the asshole you all claim him to be, he wouldn't have let the band continue without him, but keep posting dumb memes to prove your point.

 

They were a shell of their former selves when they put out Neighborhoods.

California is more old school Blink than we have heard in over a decade.

 

You do realize someone can be a total fucking asshole and still find moments where they aren't that total asshole, right? And those moments don't change their asshole level. No one is a 100% one thing.

 

How are they a shell of its former self ? They just had two number 1 singles and a number 1 album. Not to mention one of the biggest tours of the summer. They seem to be riding high right now.

 

Honestly, I think anyone that thinks Tom couldn't stop this whole thing in a heartbeat, is crazy. What he's saying here isn't wrong. It's probably true.
