    I just think its funny.

Tom says he's still in the band/he can come back whenever.

Travis says Tom is still his good friend and they still talk.

Mark says Tom is out of/left the band and hasn't talked to Tom in a long time.

    RIP EmoPunkKid28: 2002-2016 Prestigious

I can see how the "someone doing my job for me" can rub people the wrong one. If I left my job, it's not my job anymore. Granted this situation is a bit different, since my job doesn't come with album sales, royalties, etc. haha.

This quote, however, makes much more sense to me, and came off way more honest and sincere. Should've said something like this years ago!

“And, being on tour was such a grind. I didn’t love it enough; it was too much disruption for me. And playing the same songs every night and moving your body (the same way) with your guitar, it felt like you were ‘vogue-ing,’ like you were faking it. ‘Here’s the same song again — 1, 2, 3, 4!’ I felt like a robot.”

A wise man once wrote a lyric that went like this:

And you can just stop talking, I get it.

That's all I got to say about Tom.

  7. In all honesty I just think Tom and Mark were just nasty to each other and obviously had a blow up of epic portions. Him and Travis still talk, so to me Mark obviously isn't innocent either.

Tom treated blink like a legacy act instead of trying to push the band further. He put no heart into the new songs. Maybe if that wasn't the case he would have to be playing the same songs every night etc.

  9. Huh ? They still play the same songs every night.

Tom is complaining he has to play the same songs every night and wasn't into. "Faking it" "felt like a robot". It's because they play the hits every night. What I'm saying if Tom wanted to put more effort into new music with blink they could play that instead and be more into it. Maybe this only makes sense in my head lol

I always thought the whole greatest hits setlist, strictly 90 minutes thing was more of a Mark thing.

I don't have much evidence for that other than the fact that they still do it, and when they played blizzcon during those untitled shows the Mark songs were replaced with hits

Thought the Tom article was a good read. Can't say I disagree or think he's out of line with the things he said.

I'd like to see them play with Tom again, but not until they put out at least one more full length with Matt. I really like California and want to see how they'll follow it up. After that I think I'll be ready though, not hat I think the band gives two shits about what I think haha

Like someone else said, it rubs the wrong way. It feels like he's backhandedly putting down what they are doing with Skiba or comparing Skiba to a substitute teacher or something. There are many ways he can say that better, or not saying at all and be a bit more gracious about it.

You seem to like calling me out for some reason on what I say, like I am just a anti-Tom person that dislikes him. Let me clarify this: Tom used to be my idol back in the day. The first breakup I stuck by him and the others at the same time, I supported AvA and +44 both. Tom was still good in my book I made every effort to follow his endeavors, see angels any time they came near by, get every album. It wasn't until the reunion and I saw how much more Mark was into it that I started to favor Mark, and then the breakup happened again. Tom since this last break up however, he is not handling it well. Leaving out that I feel his work quality has declined, He continues to say these outlandish statements that come off as jerk moves when I know he can be a bigger man then that. I like what Blink is doing with Skiba a LOT, but even if I didn't saying things like this doesn't just make Tom look bad it kind of puts Skiba down even if that isn't his intention it does so to fans. Tom can handle this so much better, but making comments like this comes off like a bitter jilted ex who can't get over his old girlfriend being happier with someone new and that he could get her back whenever he wished.

Everyone knows that Tom can be a douchenozzle sometimes and that Skiba is the actual man, but blink is Tom, Mark and Travis imo. This iteration of blink feels like a fun little detour to me, but we'll see!

I wouldn't call it a detour. Blink has had a far more dedicated work ethic to making new music and touring with Skiba, more so then it was with Tom at any point since the reunion. They are back in the public eye for the first time in who knows how long as well. The mark tom Travis rendition of Blink will always be important and the OG Blink but this too is Blink, and I don't see it changing anytime soon

Yeah you're right about the reignited popularity and work ethic for sure. I'm in no rush to see the end of this line-up but I don't feel like it's going to last for much longer tbh.

Who knows what really went on other than those 3, but I will say if Tom wanted to change the set list that Mark or especially Travis would say no and Tom would just back down.

I also seem to remember in one of the interviews Mark and Travis gave in early 2015 one of them, I think it was Travis, said how they would barely rehearse for upcoming tours because they would start and then Tom would just complain about things and it would bum the other 2 out.

I think it's a mix of Mark wanting to play the Greatest Hits so the fans wouldn't be disappointed that they went to a blink show and didn't hear them play 'Song X' and Tom being lazy and not caring enough to re-learn songs.

I've read many moons ago on a (probably) unreliable forum that Mark has 90 minute sets in his contract. No idea if it's true, but it wouldn't surprise me.

Was it not disrespectful for Mark & Travis to replace Tom without telling him first? I understand, Tom's manager wrote the "TOM. IS OUT" email or whatever first, but they just hired Skiba for those shows without even discussing it with Tom or his management it seems like. Also Tom still owns the band with Mark and Travis. You guys conveniently didn't quote this part of the article:

From a business perspective, DeLonge never left blink.

“I still own the band,” he noted, before quickly clarifying that he, Hoppus and Barker “own everything” blink-related.

    Does DeLonge miss blink?

His affirmative response underscored why he is happier — at least for now — not being in the band that has long been synonymous with his name.

“Oh, yeah, I miss the relationship we had, and the growth, and the crazy times,” DeLonge said. “But I don’t miss the grind. Like, every band has a grind, so you have to love it so much that you tolerate the grind.

    He leaned forward for emphasis.
