PSA: any crap on the subreddit that doesn't get deleted about the deluxe edition being a mix between "old alkaline and old blink" is someone misunderstanding an old video in a new alternative press article. don't get your hopes up for that, otherwise you're in for a big disappointment in May.

No doubt. You kind of could hear Matt choke up a little bit when it came to talking about Dan and Derek. You can kind of tell he feels bad for making them wait.

Didnt that merely only send audio to one earpiece? And since it was stereo sound you only heard the right or left channel? That shouldn't have anything to do with mixing.

Also did anyone else catch on the podcast Skiba said that California has been certified Gold? I didn't know that. Hopefully with the deluxe they're eventually able to go platinum!

 

Lol someone on Reddit bitched about them sacrificing quality songwriting with Feldmann, I had to ask what they thought blink was doing when the label said there were no singles on TOYPAJ and Mark and Tom crapped out Rock Show and First Date in fifteen minutes. God the Feldmann hate is delicious lol.

I'm so tired of the Feldmann hate. I get why people might be critical of the "write a chorus in five minutes" approach or whatever, but I honestly think the band needed that. They needed to strip things back to simplicity instead of overthinking everything and taking years to record an album.

 

I agree. The hate is old news. He and Skiba brought life and that buzz back to the band. He really helped them get back into the mainstream too. Still really want them to work with Bill Stevenson though.

Next time I catch Mark doing a Q&A session on Twitter I'll ask him if he/they would ever work with Bill.

Very good interview, I didn't think it was possible for me to like Skiba more but I do now somehow lol.

Cool to see him using a Mesa. His switch to the Vox's was fine for Angels & Airwaves but blink didn't sound as heavy/full/hard.

 

Guys, I wish vinyl wasn't so expensive. I found so much Blink in my local record store today that I wanted to throw my pretend money at.

 

Mark has said multiple times lately that the release date for the deluxe is May 19th so it's looking like a sure thing at this point

 

Count me in the 'not keen on feldmann' camp. California sounded terrible production-wise, and the album itself is easily their worst. Love that they're back functioning as a real band, and I love Skiba, but it's been a double edged sword. As a blink fan for 18 years, California is the only thing I don't fully enjoy.

 

Funny how opinions work, I wouldn't call California their worst at all lol

 

Blink is actually my favorite band. I suppose I have somewhat high standards. Considering the pedigree involved, it should of been better.

 

Seeing as you stated that blink is your favorite band, I ask, what album is your most favorite and which album made them your favorite? I'm not trying to bash your opinion or anything I'm just intrigued.
