It doesn't tho.... AVA makes more big, sweeping soundscapes, but this has more isolated, Electronic-influenced beats on the intro & bridge. Plus Travis' drumming is absolutely insane, guitars are super crushing, and Tom is singing about more personal experiences, and in the process making hook after hook after hook. It just sounds massive, and Mark's little backing vocals add a little more "oomph" to it.

This song is exactly how I wanted blink to sound in the 2010's.

It’s not unintentionally depressing to write a song reminiscing on the time you met your wife and reflecting on your lives over time to the present. Whether you want to argue the lyrics are “good” or not is fine, but the idea behind it is not unintentionally depressing.

In the song your username mentions, the first verse is a 23ish year old guy writing about his mom reading him stories to sleep. ISN’T THAT UNINTENTIONALLY DEPRESSING??? Or should we ignore why he wrote that verse and what it means to the rest of the song?

Hint: The lyrics on EOTS and the majority of early blink have also never been “good.”

 

I’ll type up my California thoughts but the first one that stuck out to me (I was a little high while listening) is that She’s Out of Her Mind reminded me of a bad Lonely Island song about a crazy girl and the Bauhaus line is the punchline that would also be a visual gag in the video

It's funny how some of you are making fun of others for knowing how bad California is by reading comments on facebook, when it's like "Blame it on my youth has been played a million times, then it MUST BE GOOD". A real Blink fan wouldn't even hear it because that Blink song doesn't exist. I heard a similar song by +44 featuring Matt skiba though.

Only real blink fans carry viles of their sweat, blood, or tears around their neck while endlessly complaining about something related to the band but then arguing when someone complains about something else you agree with.
