Listened to TOYPAJ last weekend for the first time in ages. Still great. Rock Show still is the best music video i've ever seen

Blink had an incredible run of great music videos back in the day. WMAA, ATST and First Date are just iconic. I also enjoyed Man Overboard and The Rock Show. I think they absolutely nailed the tone for Adam's Song, STFTK and Home Is Such A Lonely Place. Always is such an underrated music video, probably their last good one outside of HISALP.

I've been on the biggest Blink kick of my life these past two to three weeks. Not sure why. I'm normally not a nostalgia type of guy but all the recent 20-year-talk of Enema has got me in some type of mood.

Also, this is probably sacrilegious to say, especially in here, but I've never been able (and still cannot) get into Dude Ranch. It's just too raw for me. I remember my older sisters listening to it before Enema came out and I didn't care for it back then. That's why I was shocked to have liked Enema so much when it came out.

I think it gets forgotten about because it was released in I want to say November and they were broken up by January/February and the song really didn't get much air play because the Untitled album's cycle run was pretty much over by then. I still think Always should have been the 3rd single over Down, I think it would have been a better choice and more successful.

I know music videos aren't really a thing anymore but the ones for Neighborhoods and California (minus HISALP) have really been very very weak in terms of creativeness. Again though we've living in different times but it's a shame as someone who grew up watching TRL and the Making of the music video shows.

A good video that matches the song really does add something special.

I’d echo my appreciation for Home is Such a Lonely Place, or the Menzingers After The Party

agreed. the Simple Creatures music vid was a bit of a step up in that regard by at least being a bit of fun (though the 2 corpses running away together wasn't all that different from After Midnight's)

and i'm sure if they made a vid in the vein of First Date or ATST of Mark, Matt and Travis being goofy, it'd be labelled with "UGH, CRINGE, YOU GUYS ARE 40+, CMON" too

I used to be obsessed with the videos for Dammit and Josie. Watching those videos were always a trip for me. I remember watching dammit over and over again to try and see how Tom would play the song on guitar.

I know there was a bunch of excitement around the Enema 20, but I’m going to be all about the TOYPAJ 20. Dude Ranch introduced me, but TOYPAJ sealed my fate with this band. Crucial album for 14-17 year old me.

Agreed. TOYPAJ was their peak as a band imo in terms of popularity and it was when Tom's song writing finally matched Mark's. It was such a fun summer high school album.

Although I like Enema more than TOYPAJ I'd much rather see a set of the band playing TOYPAJ front to back instead. Maybe it's because I've heard all of Enema's songs outside of Party Song and Anthem live but I don't know. Just thinking about hearing Everytime, Roller Coaster and Please Take Me Home again is pretty exciting. Plus they never played Online Songs or Shut Up ever. Throw in them playing those bonus songs too, count me in.

  19. During Mark's Instragam Live thing on Saturday, I asked him why he doesn't like playing TOYPAJ deep cuts live. He didn't respond.

If they play the full album for its 20th b-day, I will absolutely buy a ticket.

My sister’s boyfriend picked TOYPAJ up for me on his way over to our house. I’d been looking forward to it alllll day and then this goon hands me the album WITHOUT THE SHRINK WRAP because he decided to listen to it on his drive. I was disappointed for a time least an entire minute.

But yeah, TOYPAJ is probably the Blink album I enjoy most. It was the first one I actively anticipated, and its “edginess” felt cool af at the time. Still holds up, too, musically.
