Seriously do we have to compare and contrast Tom/Mark/Blink wtf ever they’re doing? They’re all doing what they want to do now, and they’re both not any different than they were 10 years ago just one makes music and one researches aliens.

Yep, pretty gross. I just hope he’s grown out of the backwards nature of those views.

On another note, that article details one of the things I’ve always believed about Blink. They’re all about $$$ and margins, and the music comes second (which is fine!).

It’s one of the major reasons I’m 100% convinced Tom plays with them again in the future.

 

Problem with Tom doing what he wants to do is that he is stealing money from people calling it an investment

Still the part that ticks me off too. If he did everything else and not that I’d have lots of respect for it, and I’ll still probably watch some of this show, but man does that still not set well with me.

Jeez, just remembered tomorrow is the 20 year anniversary of Enema.

 

The ironic thing about blink always being about money first and music second is that they had their most successful album/tour run in 15 years without Tom, so if it continues there's no reason to bring him back (assuming the choice is strictly Mark and Travis' alone and there are no legal issues with keeping Tom out if he wants to come back etc).

I don’t think FANS calling him a “clown” is solely because he left due to pursuing his dream of chasing UFO’s. That’s like, the only part I admire and respect for him. Follow what you love man. You impacted my life for than any other musician and I forever owe that debt.

It’s pretty much .... everything else he’s done. And I’m a very big AVA fan. Those first 3 albums I’ll stand on any hill and defend. But him trying to scam all his fans time and time again, nah.

Excited to watch this documentary.

 

I had an 11 hour car drive this past weekend and put on We Don't Need to Whisper to see what I thought of it after all this time and I found myself skipping every song after about 30 seconds. Just not for me at this point in my life. Most of the songs sounded way to similar.

 

Why does that bother you if you didn't personally invest? Adults can make their own decisions about how to spend their own money.

 

Watching the first episode of Unidentified now. Surprisingly, Tom doesn't even appear until 26 minutes in.

 

Are you cool with subprime mortgages or payday lenders or Ponzi schemes or loan sharks because "adults can make their own decisions about how to spend their own money"? Because I'm not. I think people being taken advantage because they don't understand an "investment" is, to put it mildly, shady.

There's actual early round investment in a company, where those participating get a say, could see a real return, and there's accountability ... I've done it quite a few times in fact ... and then there's that travesty he launched.

 

Because people obviously look up to him and in a sense "trust him" and will blindly throw their money at whatever he does without actually reading the fine print and knowing they're most likely getting scammed.

If he wasn't Tom Delonge these people most likely wouldn't have given him a dime.
