What was that site that had the registration or whatever for all the song titles before the California release? Anybody check that lately?

 

I’m not expecting the album tomorrow if Mark was literally just texting about the album title and artwork with Travis and Matt last night.

 

I'm not expecting a surprise drop at any point for any reason

 

This band is way too predictable and formulaic to have a surprise release (even though I speculated/hoped a little while back).

Mid July release is most likely.

 

"The artwork looks great. I can't wait til it drops on Friday!"

So I listened to the Mark, Tom & Travis show last night and I thought it was interesting reflecting on the lyrics to Aliens Exist in 2019.

You used to read me stories

We all know conspiracies are dumb

These lines jumped out to me - Tom seems to be taking on a skeptical point of view with the dismissal of conspiracies. Thought this was interesting because back in '99 he was probably reading a lot of unverified, conspiracy theory type of UFO stuff.

What if people knew that these were real?

This seems to be the new mission statement for Tom and TTS. His whole thing now is trying to get the general population to believe and take this subject more seriously.

Again, crazy foreshadowing of what Tom would go on to pursue. Especially wanting someone to tell him what is "right"

These lines always confused me a bit since I was a kid. Is it a reference to abduction? On more introspection and with everything over the last few years maybe this is a reference to reading in the van on tour. He lost track of time because he got lost in the book and he's "not like" Mark & Travis who didn't really care about any of the stuff Tom was super into.

Always thought this was kind of a jab at Mark for not believing in aliens or giving Tom shit for his obsession.

I know no one asked for this but I thought it was mildly interesting and although kind of about Tom, It's not about him coming back or not..

 

So did Mark go through and delete most of this replies to his Q&A on twitter last night? It looks like it.

 

The existence of this song is why I'm always surprised when people thing Tom has suddenly gone nuts whenever he talks about UFOs etc. He's ALWAYS thought about them. I remember watching the X Files and finding out about Majestic 12 (secret government organistion relating to Roswell) and suddenly understanding the last line haha. (Twelve Majestic lies). Also most importantly the riff in that song absolute rips bruh.
