I'm not sure if you guys actually listened to the interview, but he clarifies all of that. He says he's aware that Blink songs like ATST were his most successful songs, but to him personally The Adventure means more to him, for reasons like Obama using it in his presidential campaign, and fans saying they walked down the aisle at their wedding to it.

 

I could see that. Especially since he probably felt pretty isolated at that time in his life so coming out with a "big" song on his first solo release had to be a ton of pressure I bet. He probably just feels more of a sense of accomplishment with it.

All the Small Things and The Adventure are both fuckin' awesome songs end of.

 

During the interview, he definitely clarifies the comment:

"People think songs associated with Blink-182 are my biggest songs, like All the Small Things, but when I listen to those songs I sound like I’m 8-years-old, when we headline Reading and Leeds– and play All The Small Things in front of 100K people, you think 'Oh my god, these songs have gone a long way'…but The Adventure was different in a bigger way, people walking down to the aisle to it, playing at the Olympics, Obama using it at his election, it went so far because it’s an inspirational song. It exploded Angels and Airwaves onto the scene.'

I don't think he's saying numbers-wise it's a bigger song, I think he's just saying it had a more of an inspirational impact, which I'm assuming means more to him in his career.

 

AVA's songs definitely reach a different variety of people than blink since they're more "inspirational" or whatever. I heard one on like a random daytime DIY type show here in England once and Surrender was used in a video by WWE to hype a Wrestlemania!

 

I swear I remember Soul Survivor being used by WWE in some fashion, and my only memory involves the Big Show and a WWE film ... I am like 5% confident on this.

Yeah I just did some mild googling and apparently they use it on a vid about visiting China. I think they used the Adventure for something else too actually.
