So it's just the Last fm word for a play? Gimme a break I'm an old man. haha. My 56k dial up can't deal with this streaming shit!

 

Here's an actual definition of what the hell a "scrobble" is:

To "scrobble" a song means that when you listen to it, the name of the song is sent to a Web site (for example, Last.fm) and added to your music profile. Here's how it works: Once you've signed up and downloaded Last.fm, you can scrobble songs you listen to on your computer or iPod automatically.

 

I've been scrobbling since Jan 24, 2005. Nearly 300,000 scrobbles, not including periods of time from 2015-2018ish where tracks weren't scrobbing for one reason or another

 

Haha yeah, it’s their own official term that never caught on with the zeitgeist.

 

I restarted my last.fm in 2012, but from 2005-2010, I crushed it. I wish that profile still existed in some form. Would love to see who my most played was. Probably Early November or Midtown or Anberlin.

 

So you can listen to songs on several different platforms but it all gets collected on one site? Alright I guess haha.

This scrobble shit is way over my head.

 

I just logged into Last.FM for the first time in who knows how long, and apparently I've been scrobbling the entire time. I have a total of almost 4300 scrobbles, haha.

 

Those that haven't been online since 2002 on one side, those that have, on the other.

 

I remember the days of turning off my last.fm when I was listening to something I was embarrassed about and/or didn’t want affecting my stats.

Oh yeah hell no. I have way too many guilty pleasures. I’m proud of them, but in my personal way. Y’all don’t need to know how much I listen to metalcore, Britney Spears, and every weird thing in between.

 

...Now I must know.

 

Same way back in like 2005-10. I think I reset my stats at some point but I don't remember when that was.
