So, it's definitely growing on me more now ! I listened to it on headphones last night to get a clearer sound and man did it sound great. I don't think the guitars were ever a problem on this song, but the guitars are definitely more sound I noticed while listening on headphones. The synths are pretty sweet, I love the 80's pop and new wave vibe this song brings. I absolutely love Mark's bass in the beginning, it gave me a vibe from the untitled album. I honestly thought I'd hate Mark's verse but it's pretty rad ! I think you can definitely hear Matt's Trio influence, as for the lyrics I think they work great for the song and are a big step up from California. My only complaint really is I wish the chours was a bit bigger and turned into something more. This is something I definitely can get behind and for the band's standards it is different but gives me that Blink vibe.

 

I think if anything would be getting to Mark it would be all the racist comments.

 

The comments on his Instagram are really disrespectful. Imagine being that entitled.

 

When I first got Dude Ranch I read Untitled as "Entitled" and "Enthused" as "Unthused" and wrote it on one of my mix CDs

I can't stop laughing at "Gritty pre computer days". I love blink to death but "gritty" is the last word I'd use to describe them in a million years. Also telling him to go back to the old days followed by saying he shouldn't try to be old blink is pretty confusing haha.

And demanding "no keyboards and synths" when half of EOTS was covered in subtle keys like a nice warm blanket just shows the ignorance of some people.

 

Sounds like he wants an album that sounds like Flyswatter. No thank you.

 

Oh god i remember that - First Date on Conan. Travis had a Princess Leia wig on, Mark had a black eye and Tom and a bandage on his nose I think. After the performance Conan asked if they got in a fight backstage and Tom said somberly, I don’t want to talk about it. Boy did we speculate.

I will never understand why people would go out of their way to reach out to an artist on social media just to bash them. What's the point? I truly don't know how celebrities deal with the hate that gets pushed their way (unless it's justified ala R Kelly for example). If you don't like something fine but get a hobby instead of trying to be a keyboard warrior.

I also don't get the people that continue to claim they're fans of a band and yet continue to come into threads and say the same non sense over and again and over again about how they haven't been fans of anything the said band has done in years.

 

Exactly this, I would never @ and artist or tag them or comment on their post saying something they did sucked... it’s just like a... shitty thing to do to someone

Yeah I don't get it, like after they do it do they feel good about themselves thinking "hey I told them and now they'll completely change their music and make it something I want it to sound like"?

Social media is truly and best and worst thing ever. Fans have actual access to their favorite artists virtually anytime they want and they use it for no good.

Yeah this hate has gotten me feeling so down. That combined with not feeling the same magic as when BTD dropped have me somber. I might’ve hyped it up too much in my head. Now I can’t even enjoy those Facebook groups or online forums. This is the only fun place anymore, ha.

 

This is the only place I went to yesterday. I went into another forum around 9:40ish in the morning trying to find a link to the new song since I don't have Apple Music and my head exploded with all the hate being thrown at the song. I decided not to go back and I never use FB or reddit. This website really is my safety blanket haha.

 

Maybe if dissenting voices dampen your enjoyment of a song, you didn’t really like the song as much as you thought in the first place. It’s okay to change your opinion (positive or negative) after listening to other people’s takes. It’s also okay to just be disappointed. It doesn’t make you less of a fan, or a poser, or a hater.

I couldn’t listen to the song until later in the day because of work and I avoided all websites just because of this. I hate reading comments about a song I haven’t even heard about before I can form my own opinion. Especially when the bulk of them are “this is suuuuck AVA better.”

 

OR MAYBE we genuinely enjoyed the song and the ones talking down on the song is irritating because there’s no conversation to be had. Neither them or us will change our minds.
