Listening to some of the Deluxe California songs right now and my god this new song is so much better and so much more what I wanted them.

 

"Long Lost Feeling" occupies some of the same psychic space as this song, but they were able to really pull it off better on this one.

 

I was just about to say that. I love that song, but this one is just crafted more tastefully. "Long Lost Feeling" like a lot of the deluxe just feels a bit unfinished or something even though some of those songs are pretty good.

 

Yeah, you can see what they were trying with songs like "Last Train Home" and "Bottom of the Ocean" ... but those ended up feeling just like basic versions of what they do, not total throwaways, but more a few cool ideas and parts but not quite there as a whole.

Whereas this song feels whole and there's a liveliness to it that really elevates it.

 

Yeah, I'm SO grateful that Feldmann was able to get them back on track, but excited to see how they've spread their wings and used that confidence to tap into other creative spaces.

 

Song's currently at #18 on Apple Music's "Rock" charts.

 

I loved most of California but deluxe was the bottom of the barrel for me. First Blink release I deleted off of my library besides a song or 2. It just did nothing for me. This new song has been getting a lot of plays already, and my hype is back on for this new album

 

Blame It On My Youth it's like Feeling This of 2019. You can still tell this 100% blink-182, but it is also very different in a great way. After each and every new play of the song I have started to recognize and enjoy all the different musical layers and small pieces. And I am singing along and shaking my head like 10 years old me!

 

Tom looks like a guy who's getting paid from two new singles, one of which he wrote.

CHW soundtrack is how i discovered blink. My sister had a copy and I decided to play it one day, didn’t make it past track 3, and then only listened to track 3 over and over and over

 

This is like when my divorced parents decided to celebrate holidays together!

 

Turns out: Their total fucking sellout moves are how most people know about the band.

 

Yep listening back to LTH and BOTO you can totally see the evolution and growth from that to the new single.

I honestly have no idea how I found out about blink but as a suburban white kid in San Diego I think they were always there

 

Can you IMAGINE if this lineup pulled a "yeah well I couldn't think of what to write for the chorus so I just did all na-nas" lmao

 

A song about "growing up punk rock" should be an actual punk rock song.
