I've been looking, but also saw a comment on reddit saying that it's not released until tomorrow

 

Why does everyone think he can't be both? I only think he was super serious and having identity issues at the very start of AVA. Ever since then I think he's been pretty comfortable playing both roles because that's actually just who he is. I thought the video was cute.

 

I mean, he is both. The point was more that it's strange how he has tried to portray himself differently depending on the project (not so much with this cartoon, I thought it was fine). Mostly when he came back to blink and tried extra hard to act like the "old Tom" as if there is really any need for that.

It's no big deal, it's just that you don't see other people talking about their projects with complete seriousness and then turning around like "oh yeah, blink? Shit, piss, fuck, etc."

 

Eh, I think ya'll are reaching a bit with that critique tbh.

 

He was pretty poop & pee joke Tom throughout the I-Empire days, I remember a Warped Tour meet and greet where every second word was about dicks or boobs and on Modlife (ugh) he was always talking about sex and nudity. Maybe for a second during the We Don’t Need to Whisper cycle he was trying hard to be seen as straight laced and mature but after that I don’t think he was putting on any airs. He’s just a weird dude with the sense of humor of a 12 year old straight boy.

 

My point is that he wasn’t writing AvA songs about pooping on anyone’s cousin. He thinks that’s his “blink” persona, but he’s obviously goofy overall. I’m not saying he has a split personality.

 

I dunno we have 2016-17 blink songs about naked dudes, masturbating because your pregnant wife doesn’t want to have sex, and an orifice that the narrator isn’t allowed to put his finger in so I’m not sure Tom’s alone in that mindset

I'm gonna make an educated guess that Tom would have worked on the lyrics for Golden Showers if it was actually gonna go on a blink record...Seemed kinda like placeholder lyrics to me.

I go back to the Tom demos, I happen to enjoy the actual music on those. I honestly don't pay attention to those lyrics.

Guess you never heard WDNTW, as well as every rock and roll album that came out after (seeing as how they were all inspired by that)
