writing with pop artists is fine, the problem is writing with bad artists... which is the case here

That’s literally a subjective statement though. More people like those “bad” artists to every band mentioned before combined.

(15-20 years ago people would have been pissed if Blink wrote with Gerard Way. TOP are to many what MCR was then. You gotta see this right?)

 

But only one of the bands on this list has ever written a hit song... Paramore.

What’s the point of writing with pup or tds or twy ... they can write those songs in 5 minutes blind folded? Those bands could use a writing session with Mark, not the other way around.

 

They’ve been pretty transparent about being influenced by them.

I didn’t mean it has to be a hit/single, just would be sweet to hear them work with those bands. I think they fit more with blinks style/brand/personality, more than Chainsmokers and Steve Aoki (No disrespect to them at all).

I’d say there is a argument to make that Pup, TDS, and TWY have written better songs than Mark in the last few years.

But the point of writing with an artist is an end goal. They can write those kinda songs all day long, it brings nothing new to the table they can’t do.

Most fans love Blink-182 though. The album was massively successful. That seems pretty effective to me. How can that not be considered working?

1) I don’t, 2) objectively not more successful songs.

Blink-182 are a massive band trying to write hits. That’s who they are. That’s who they’ve always been. I am constantly confused that people ignore this has been their career/history to try and make them something else.
