Haha I rarely ever listen to it but the vids I watched I wouldn't mind seeing it live once. I'd probably switch out Down cause it just seems to drag the show to a halt

 

Travis is still actively buddying around with Adam22 post his being dropped for sexual assault and hyping his XXXtentacion collab. It’s soured me on the band.

 

“Little Help” is a classic Dan style song and I don’t think the lyrics on it are bad at all. I think if anything it lacks a decent melody/no good hook.

But I also heard that song years ago at some of his solo acoustic shows and it works so much better as a folksy acoustic song than a full band punk song.

 

I wouldn't say it's classic Dan at all (unless you're using solo Dan as your reference for that, I've never gotten into his solo stuff much), but to me classic Dan is Trio. When Jason did his first impression and called it very Social Distortion (I think it was Jason) he nailed it. I don't dislike it, or anything on Cursed for that matter, but it does feel super out of place to me

Lyrically it’s classic dan. Very on the nose, slight hint of cheese, self loathing and self destructive, etc.

It just worked much better as an acoustic thing, but it was never my favorite song of his. There are a bunch of other solo songs he’s played over the years that have never made an album that I would have preferred he brought back for Cursed. Not sure they would have fit the album really lol, but whatevs.
I think it’s a weak Dan album which sucks because he’s my favorite writer. But I just wasn’t feeling the hooks and melodies on a lot of his songs this time around. After Shame and Broken Wing EP, I knew it’d be hard to match his work there, but def took a step back with this one IMO

 

I think Dan was very strong on ITTC. I loved all of his parts on every song a hell of a lot, and Stay is a top 10 Dan song easily

 

I liked his spots in the songs they shared the most actually, above any of his own songs, which is rare for me. Cursed is great and I do like Stay but not nearly as much as I should as a huge Dan fan haha. Just something about it doesn’t grab me the same way Broken Wing or Only Love or Butnrd Is the House did. Can’t really put my finger on it.

They really should share vocals more often tho, it worked so well on here and I can’t think of a song of theirs where it didn’t. Matt’s bridge in Love Love Kiss Kiss is fantastic, for example.

 

It's probably my least favorite Dan album tbh. I like Worn So Thin a lot but Help and Ribbon are too fast and short to make an impact on me and something about Stay just doesn't hit me like songs like Crawl, Smoke, Fine, etc. The title track is still really good but Matt just dominated the album for me after Dan dominated the last three.

Like I said, I don't think one song is bad on it. Dan just has such a high bar lol

I feel like this is the proper response I’ll use in pretty much any scenario for the rest of my life.

 

I'm not a big Dan guy but yeah Stay is definitely a top 10 Dan song. I feel like it's almost a sequel to Fine.

 

The Red Sox will do that to you, they did it to me each year until 2004....

I haven't been hardcore blink fan in a while, but I'm hoping someone can help me find a photo. I don't think it was released/spread inkine until after the reunion, but IIRC it's from the 2004 European tour and it's on their bus. Each member is on a separate couch(Tom directly facing the camera) and you can see the tension. There's a very similar shot (maybe even the same one) at 2:30 in the Not Now video.

 

I’m not denying there was hella tension on this tour but I just see a band backstage in this photo.

 

Maybe sexual tension cos 2/3 of the band are semi nude.
