I mean it's a deluxe track and they never pushed a song from it. And they wrote the best song on the original album like the first day so I don't get the impression anyone is in their ear. There wouldn't have been 17 tracks if a label was interfering, I think blink pretty much runs their own show at this point.

 

I still want to know why they didn’t push more singles (Sober).

 

From what I remember Mark saying in an interview it came from the original Feldy sessions, and it was removed from the album towards the deadline, which Mark was bummed about.

 

Yeah I was just more curious about how they came to have Matt screaming about the song needing some personality haha. It def just seems like a sarcastic response to someone’s opinion of the song in the studio or something lol

 

Haha yeah well we know they didn't put much thought past the first thought. It definitely comes off as jokey or sarcastic and doesn't make sense with the rest of the song, I get you, I do wanna know how they came about haha

 

That line definitely doesn't match the tone of the rest of the song. It made me think that maybe the track was unfinished, like that line was just a placeholder until they found something better to fit there and never went back to fix it before they threw it on the deluxe album. But from the way everyone else talks, it seems like they considered it done and ready for release on the actual album but cut it. Which is confusing.

 

I could see them doing that as an in-joke with Feldmann.

 

I don’t think the screaming works excellently but I don’t think it sounds incongruent with the rest of the song

 

Wow I never really gave that part any thought until now, nor bothered to figure out what he's actually yelling haha I love it

 

Oh I think the screaming sounds awesome and matches the aggression of the song and such. But when I listened to the lyrics I started wondering why he was screaming about giving the song personality haha

Usually I don’t like when a band/brand does a design that’s basically a copy of another artist’s logo/design but the Cat Palace is legit and these look rad.
