TDW is my favorite AVA record haha

 

Me too and it’s not even close. I initially held a lot more respect for WDNTW but I played it a few months ago for the first time in a while and goddamn it does NOT hold up

 

TDW is the first non stale AVA album since Iempire

 

The LOVE albums are the only throwaway albums to me. WDNTW is still one of my favorite Tom albums, and TDW is a solid second runner up in ranking AVA records. I Empire has some gems too, but there's definitely some repetitive stuff on there.

I never have and never will like Everything's Magic, though

Dogs Eating Dogs is the best AVA album

 

WDNTW really hasn't held up for me either. Last time I gave it a spin The War and Start The Machine were the only songs I could get into

 

I can only listen to I-Empire and Dream Walker these days. I liked WDNTW for awhile when it came out, but now it just pisses me off while listening to it for some reason. IDK why.

 

Probably cause it changed the world TOO much

 

I honestly think its bc Blink broke up and Tom used some Blink demos haha

 

Fist bump. The only two good AVA albums.

WDNTW is awful and everyone still S’s the D of “The Adventure” but that song sucks now. “The War” is the only good song on that first album.

 

There are no good AVA albums.

 

I was into the first three albums at the time, but I honestly can never see myself at this age and time listening to them seriously again.

 

I think they're all pretty good.

 

I actually kind of dig the Love albums.

 

I liked WDNTW when it came out. The only thing by AVA I can stand now is Anxiety.

Agreed. I never understood the hate for them. Pt.1 especially is pretty great.

 

Not gonna lie, I couldn’t make it through the Love albums when they came out because they felt like such rehashes of existing material. Even the better songs, I felt like I only liked them because they sounded like other songs I already enjoyed. So maybe I just didn’t really give it a chance.

 

@ComedownMachine remember when you made me live listen to these two albums and I felt like I was in literal music hell half the time?

I think Love Pt. 1 is the best AVA album, followed pretty closely by The Dream Walker.
