A farewell album is an interesting concept. I’d doubt Mark or Travis are even close to that thought, but I do wonder how long blink can sustain their theme. Outside of Untitled/Neighborhoods, they seem to have a template and I’m curious as to how long it can keep up.

 

Honestly they might turn into something like The Descendants and just request an album every 10+ years. I could see that happening - but not for a little bit.

 

and Mark is always saying that he's afraid he's said that all that he has left to say, so yeah... who knows

 

He needs a bad event to happen in his life. While I would never ever wish anything bad on him or the band, it seems like his best writing came from a very pressurized point in his life (Tom leaving blink led to +44).

Harping further on that, he had something to prove on Dude Ranch because they hadn't quite "made it" yet. Now that they are comfortable in their careers, they don't have much to prove or drive off of. Very similar to Kings of Leon in a sense that they don't have to ever worry about anything else in their lives so they don't "need" to write a new album. At least that's what their singer Caleb said in an interview a couple years ago.

He just needs something inspiring.

 

If you don't think he won't immediately start listening to it as soon as he sees this post you don't know him at all.

Finally got my Mark funko pop in the mail today.

Is anyone else's bass neck bent weird? I can't tell if they're all made like this or if I got stuck with a defect.

Anyone else feel that Mercenaries could have made an excellent blink song?

 

Literally the only good song on TDW. I wouldn’t have been mad at it being for blink.

 

same exact experience for me. Saw them in NYC and Philly w/ the matches. Got to meet Mark after since it was such small venues. Travis was MIA though

 

Man I was so ready to see +44 on my sisters bday she was super stoked then show/tour was cancelled then they just never came back. Also I wonder if they had ever started writing for LP #2

 

Oh man I don’t remember that. Did they have to cancel because of travis’ accident or was this before?

I actually like TDW. Its like AVA but a bit rawer. Kinda the direction i would have liked blink to go after untitled.

I consider Wolf pack to be horrendous though.

 

That’s fair. Lots of people like it. I very specifically hate that Ilan took tom’s style and shook it up. I like tom’s Sensibilities even though they’ve been stale the last 10 years. TDW was just too much a shift for me that it was almost unrecognizable as anything I like.
