Mark complements female vocals so well. I guess he complements higher vocals regardless (Tom early days).

City (Comma) State was great, as well as the early +44 days.

 

I love Amy Shark, very excited for this.

EDIT: NM. Told Siri to shuffle her and I’m smitten. Every track is amazing. Standouts for me right away are Adore, Spits on Girls, and Blood Brothers but seriously every song hits.

Idk why people ask stupid questions like “what if Tom came back?” Like Mark or Travis would let that happen.

I think Tom knows he can't compatibly work with them at this point. He can stay away and collect whatever he gets from an active and successful blink or force his way back and blink does nothing. He has too much going on to be able to come back or want to come back. People need to stop mistaking him mentioning blink's name when he wants investors as him honestly wanting to be back in lol.

 

So I had some free time on my hands (although this took me maybe 10 minutes) so I was able to put together a list of songs that blink never played live or at least there's no audio/video/documentation of the song being played live. I mostly used my library of bootlegs and setlist.fm but since setlist.fm isn't 100% accurate I will note it but it most likely wasn't played live since the sets don't match up with others around the same time and blink isn't known to switch up their songs randomly. I started with Cheshire Cat but I'm not 100% confident in that list since there aren't a lot of blink bootlegs from earlier than 1995 and even then it's limited so it might be incomplete/wrong.

Biggest surprise I found was that blink played Mother's Day once in 1998 and I was able to find a YouTube audio clip of it. The first time they played Happy Holidays was in 2000 so Mark must have been sitting on these joke songs for awhile. They played Mutt, Wendy Clear, Dumpweed and Aliens Exist a few times each in 1998 well before they even went into the studio to record EOTS. Also played Please Take Me Home in 2000 before they went into the studio to record TOYPAJ.

Also surprised they didn't play "when I was young." I almost feel like I saw them play it in Vegas in 2014 but checking setlist I guess not!

 

I would love for them to finally play Emo, Online Songs, Shut up, Even if She Falls, Pretty Little Girl, When I was Young and Rabbit Hole.

 

Digging the song. I think it would sound a lot better if Mark wasn't singing a verse, but I hope by having him on it she gets a whole lot more exposure in the US.

 

I can respect that. Last night while I was listening to her for the first time, I was imagining them doing a call and response type of thing like "Make You Smile" which would have been rad. Oh well, better than that State Champs feature.

If I didn't know there was Mark on feat on that's State Champs song I would have a problem to recognize who that

 

The Amy Shark song is nice, you can tell its a Mark produced song. He has a quite distinctive guitar sound, reminds me of the pre +44 demos that were posted on youtube. His voice works so well in that lower register too.
