i just skipped to the "Just Like Heaven" cover to see how that was gonna go, and it actually sounded pretty awesome.

Yea I know haha but I thought that sound on CC in general,in melodies and Tom's riffs....I remember someone pointed that it's completely Descendents sound,so I just found interesting to point out Screeching Weasel since I had play them and CC recently and it just came on my mind...I just wanted my 5 min fame in this thread,didn't work lol

 

Matt sounds like he shouldn't be trying to belt just yet. He was squeezing his voice out, it was cracking and fading and then he resorted to just yelling. Doesn't sound like the best thing to be doing to his voice right now. I hope whatever's going on with his throat is sorted out properly. Definitely sounds like he needs more time.

 

Sounds like the perfect time to replace First Date and ATST with two Mark deep cuts. Y’know, to rest Matt’s voice or whatever

 

Just got around to watching the Weenie Roast video. Woof.

Doesn't their Vegas residency start next week? They gotta step it up for that.

I know it went Gold a while back. Not sure how the sales have been since then.

 

what do you all think the probability is of them actually doing the hits one night and early/deep cuts the second night each weekend?

Yeah It's a believe it when you see it thing def. I don't remember what the source was that mentioned the full California shows but saying it on KROQ makes me more hopeful.

Lol I don't think there has ever been anybody less spontaneous on earth than Mark haha

 

also, on that KROQ interview, Mark didn't state that it was actually happening. he said something like "what we... what iiii wanna do is..." in regard to the early songs set. but i don't see them learning all of those songs and being able to play them perfectly before their residency starts. those songs are even harder to play than everything post Dude Ranch....

 

I also wanna know what they consider deep cuts to be.

 

Like, is Pathetic a deep cut? Is Don't Leave Me a deep cut?

 

Yeah, I always get hopeful when they say "this is a super old one!" and then it's just something off of TOYPAJ. But to be fair, 17 years old should qualify as a deep cut haha.

 

To them, those are probably considered deep cuts.
To me, a deep cut would be something like "Apple Shampoo" or "Online Songs."

Whenever I see blink vids on IG or whatever, people only post video 95% of the time of ATST, Rock Show, I Miss You, WMAA and First Date, guarantee you blink has a much looser definition of deep cut cause they probably think nobody wants anything other than strict hits lol

 

3 tiers of Blink songs:

Tier 1: Singles
Tier 2: Non-singles but fan favorites (Wendy Clear, Reckless Abandon, Dysentary Gary)
Tier 3: Everything else

And we never get anything from tier 3.

 

When he said they'd be doing pre-99 shows me and a buddy immediately started looking for the one date we could both do, and started planning out a vegas trip for the November shows. Now we've just been waiting for them to confirm which nights will be the throwback nights before we actually buy the tickets.

....I have a feeling they will never do it and never address those comments again haha.

 

Same with some of my friends and I. I’m not getting my hopes up anymore.
