I was just listening to my bootleg of Blink live at the Tweeter Center/Chicago in 2002. Mark dedicated Carousel to Alkaline Trio before busting into it.

    Things have changed.

They're doing that appearance to announce their ska/reggae festival. Agreed, hope there are some Blink questions.

Natives came on my shuffle loop today. Love the riff in that song.

I know Matt gets a lot of love but he'll never bring the riffs like Tom could.

  5. Well Matt could just do what Tom does and just rip off previous Blink songs. Hehhh!

Matt already ripped off his own riff 7 times throughout the same sessions haha

Such a strange choice. They had multiple people writing guitar and that same recycled riff is the best they came up with. Haha.

Lol it's crazy how much people complain about this band. Not that I disagree with most of the points made. But man

Plus blink already used a version of that riff before California. It's in the Stay Together for the Kids verses, if not more songs.

Not that re-using ideas is always bad. Tom just bangs out some octave over and over again for a main guitar part on like, twenty blink songs pre-breakup and I love them all. But California is far, far, far, far, far from the most original or dynamic album ever made. Even for them.

Right, they were in "Going Away to College", "Roller Coaster", etc.

It doesn't even really hurt the songs IMO, but it's more funny just to imagine Feldmann saying, "Alright, when I think of old blink, I think of all those riffs that go 'da-da-dun'. Let's do a whole bunch of those!"

Its just so lazy. The only song where it adds something is BTD imo.

The intro to No Future sounds like something any other high school blink wannabe band would write.

Could it be an announcement for an EP? Like 4-5 songs? Seems like a little rushed to be anything bigger

I’d say I’d be down for an EP but would that really surprise anyone

That thought struck me too. But i dunno, they said in interviews that they were going to start a new album.

I mean, they could be releasing a single even if the album isn't done.

    Not hoping too much tho.

  17. Maybe blink did a new track for travis’ doc? I’ll even stir the pot and say it’s featuring tom. Lol.

Do we know anything about the release of the doc? Will it be a Netflix thing?

My biggest issue with California is the formulaic song writing and production value. Like they wrote a ton of songs in a short period of time and it definitely shows. Songs weren't rushed but they also didn't have much time to grow.

  20. All we know is it's coming out "soon" and that it's by the same team that did the recent Steve Aoki doc.

These days with Spotify I’m always just seeing artist bring out a single song. Might just be a lone tune. Nature of music in 2018

Blink-182 has two unreleased songs with Steve Aoki— 'Golden Days' and 'Why Are We So Broken'.

Golden Days was written with Calum Hood of 5 Seconds of Summer, additionally.

I got this information from the ASCAP music database. I don't think the Vegas thing has anything to do with these songs but it's interesting knowing they exist.

Based on the Bored to Death remix I'm happy with them staying unreleased.

  24. Why are we so broken + breaking things in Vegas. Checks out. Maybe an aoki residency? Probably a blink residency with a new track to promote it. Good sleuthing!

Weren't those songs registered around the time of the Deluxe edition release? I'm almost positive at least one of the songs were because I believe we were trying to figure out if they would be on the Deluxe edition album or an Aoki release.

Either way pretty good detective work.
