It's been a while. How are you guys doing? It's kind of a calm period for the band. So I have uploaded some pre-California snippets of some unreleased songs and Built This Pool. You can hear some +44 vibes.

I think the funniest part about built this pool is that Mark liked the joke enough to put it on California like 5 years later

That 2nd clip was awesome release the full song Zeke. I mean Mark

I liked both of those but that second one sounded almost like an exact blend of Lycanthrope and When Your Heart Stops Beating. He sure does like writing in A minor.

  5. those clips are nothing new... i like the first snippet more than the second one.

So I listened to Cheshire Cat in full for the first time in probably well over a year and is it wrong if I think it's better than Neighborhoods? I mean I would take Carousel, M+M's and Wasting Time over any Neighborhoods song except After Midnight and even songs like Toast & Bananas, Does My Breathe Smell and Peggy Sue are probably better than any songs on Neighborhoods too. I use to have Cheshire Cat ranked only above Buddha in my album rankings and now moved it up one spot and Neighborhoods down one.

I easily prefer Neighborhoods over Cheshire Cat. I heard it for the first time in quite a while 2 weeks back and it really didn’t hold up. There’s obviously gems on there (and a pretty good amount of them), but it also has all their worst songs

Yeah, I can’t get down with Cheshire anymore apart from a couple of songs.

Yeah that's the big trade off/problem of Cheshire Cat. The bad songs are really bad, like you said Strings and I will add in Sometimes, TV and the 3 jokes songs are worse than anything done in Neighborhoods.

Maybe it's just because I've been on a nostalgia kick with the band and also I'm just so down on Neighborhoods because of the lack of effort put forth. I still think Buddha is their worst album. It's too bad they didn't re-record 21 Days for Cheshire Cat though.

I've been pretty vocal about this, but I'd take Cheshire Cat and Buddha over Neighborhoods every day of the week. Yeah they're not the most groundbreaking of records, but they're catchy and goofy. Neighborhoods is a disaster of a record with maybe 3 decent songs, just stinks of lack of effort.

I'd rather listen to paint drying.

Cheshire would need to have a modern day re-recording in order for me to consider it better than Neighborhoods. It's such a struggle to get through now.

Can't say I put it that way cause Neighborhoods is probably more consistent but if I had to choose between keeping those three songs or all of Neighborhoods I'm keeping Cheshire lol

Yeah neither album is perfect but like you said the top 3 songs on CC beat out any song on Neighborhoods minus After Midnight for me. Even the next tier of songs like Toast & Bananas, Breathe and Peggy Sue I enjoy more than anything on Neighborhoods. There's no denying the bad songs on CC are worse than Neighborhoods though.

Honestly, I seriously doubt I'll ever listen to Neighborhoods again. Cheshire Cat I throw on every few months cause it's a fun listen.

That pretty much sums my opinion of the records up.

I’ve actually listened to Neighbourhoods more than Cali, despite me knowing Cali is better. In saying that listened to both a freakin shit tonne.

  20. I re-bought Cheshire Cat on vinyl a few weeks ago because I sold my old copy. I haven't even opened it yet though. I just needed it to complete my Blink album collecshwan.

Woah. Hard to get a good glimpse of him with too much screen time on the frontman but he looks just the same

Musically I liked it with The Cure and Don’t fear the reaper vibes. But I’ll never get past that vocalist to ever listen again

Good to see Scotty playing music again
